I've mentioned before here that I like Cowherd a lot off the air. And I can generally tell when he's just saying stuff to joke around...but I honestly don't know what he was thinking with his Wall comments. I totally disagree. Rondo is probably better than Wall right now but give it time.
Probably? Rondo is the top PG in the NBA right now. He's playing at an insane level. Had a triple-double with 24 assists! AVERAGING over 16 ast/gm and he's always near the league lead in steals too.

It's a lot easier to average 16 assists in a game with three hall of famers on the floor with you.
Rando is good, but he has so much more talent with him, than Wall does.

I still put Deron Williams as the top PG in the league because he gets those 12-14 assists here and there averaging over 10 a game right now, is 10x better at the jump shot, has similar explosiveness as Rondo, because of his unique strength and speed there are very few pg's that match up well with him, and he does all of that despite not really having anyone else around him whereas like it was said before Rondo has 3 other All-Stars around him, 2 of which will be HOFers.

Those HOFers, except for Pierce, are nowhere near what they once were. Garnett is even a liability at times. Rondo is the real star on that team now.
I agree, Deron Williams is in the discussion of top PG in the league. Derrick Rose also. If Chris Paul could stay healthy, he would be too.
Wall could be in the mix in a year or two.

I realize it was against the Rockets but John Wall was redonkulous tonight

Wall is straight up nasty. 1 turnover to boot.

I enjoyed every minute of that game. Wall is fun to watch. Gil still looks hobbled and his defense has been depressing to watch, but if his shot starts to fall again, our offense could be decent. I liked Yi's and McGee's intensity tonight and Blatch looked good.
I'm most impressed with Thornton's improvement. He's been very aggressive on offense and our best rebounder. I never thought he'd put up a fight when Josh Howard returns, but it looks like we will have two solid small forwards on the team.
WE're still a 25-30 win team at best, likely a 20-25 win team, but I enjoy watching these guys.

Never underestimate the impact of a superstar PG that knows how to get others involved. As long as Wall's on the floor, Thornton can look like Shawn Marion. Without Wall, I think we'd be seeing a very inefficient scorer.

How is his court vision? I'm hoping that last night was an indication because that speed isn't going to always be there so it would be nice to know that he'll be able to carry this team for a while. Granted of course that he doesn't try to dip out like every other NBA player worth a damn.
