Chico23231 04-02-2011, 05:27 AM Jordan Crawford is legit... he just dropped a triple-double in relief of Wall. Albeit against the Cavs, but this isn't a fluke- Craw's been on a tear the past few weeks.
So much for being a throw-in to that Hinrich trade (according to some, EG wouldn't have made the trade without Craw). Kirk Hinrich netted the Wiz: Kevin Seraphin, Jordan Crawford, Atl's '11 first rounder and the opportunity to get out of a big contract (Bibby's second year released).
Oh yeah- JaVale McGee may have turned a corner, consistency-wise. Seeing some nice post moves from him lately.
Keep your fingers crossed for Derek Williams.
Its jaw dropping how good Crawford is...this guy is a def keeper and another young nucleaus for the team to grow around.
Keep: Wall, McGee, Crawford, Booker, and Young. Continue to turnover over the roster. I would love to see Blatche traded in the offseason, I think he would have some value.
D. Williams wouldnt be a bad pick, Harrison Barnes would be a better one.

Well, it's a long shot but I wouldn't want Wall to predict anything less
dmek25 04-13-2011, 11:45 AM Crawford is the only baller you guys have, other then Wall. the rest are trash. meanwhile, Mr. Collins has my young sixers in the playoffs. can you say coach of the year?

Id say we have a nice young group of players and will certainly add some more this draft. Id say we continue to trim away the fat...preferably not signing Josh Howard again, dealing Blatche, and please god no more Yi. I cant stomach another season with Yi on the floor, he is maybe the worst player in the league. Bringing in a positive, Veteren big man with leadership skills at the 5 or 4 should be high on our list, even if he is off the bench.

Not at all... Trevor Booker is a beast, Nick Young will only get better and JaVale McGee has potential to dominate (if he can get his head on straight).
Your Sixers may be in the playoffs, but personnel-wise you guys have as much trash as the Wiz... you just have more experience. And you better hope Iggy doesn't bounce- your team is old! Holliday is the only guy on Philly I like (even though he's a Bruin). Not feeling Evan Turner.

mlmdub130 04-14-2011, 04:39 PM this kind of crap is whats wrong with the wizards and why damn near the whole team HAS to go. all they are doing now is ruining young players with the lack of and piss poor leadership. the mentality of this teams is a complete joke and a very very sad joke at that. i'm not a huge basketball fan but why would i or anyone want to support a shitty ass team that can't even support themselves. what a bunch of f-ing losers.
Wizards hardly disappointed in season finale loss
By Michael Lee
JaVale McGee pulled out his iPad2, tapped the screen, leaned back in front of his locker room stall and started laughing.
“Kevin,” McGee said, calling over rookie Kevin Seraphin, who made the blooper reel during the Wizards’ 100-93 season finale loss in Cleveland. Late in the first period, Jordan Crawford spotted Seraphin cutting to the basket and made a beautiful no-look pass. Problem was, Seraphin wasn’t looking either and the ball popped him in the face before going out of bounds.
Crawford looked at the screen and asked, “That’s already on the Internet?”
“Yeah,” McGee said with a laugh, as he showed the replay to Seraphin.
Seraphin stared blankly at the screen and quietly walked away as McGee continued to laugh.
The Wizards were unable to finish their best month in more than three years with win, but there was little disappointment in the locker room afterward. There was a sense of accomplishment, based on how the team competed in the final weeks, and there was also some comfort in knowing that they probably could’ve easily dominated the Cavaliers had Coach Flip Saunders decided to play his starters their regular minutes.

Dirtbag59 04-14-2011, 06:24 PM ESPN - 2011 NBA Lottery Mock Draft (http://espn.go.com/nba/lottery2011/mockdraft)
This team confuses me. Right now I see a lot of good young players. Crawford, Young, McGee, Wall. Even Booker looks good as a role player. Still what do they need to add to continue their development? We all know Wall is going to be a Derrick Rose type player but what do we add in the draft.
Right now the NBA Draft Lotto machine says we'll go for the following
If we pick at 4 we get the Turkish big man/Kentucky student deemed ineligible in Enes Kanter. A physical 6'10 Center that apparently has decent range. ESPN compares him to Andrew Bogut, who is one of the more under appreciated big men in the league.
If we pick at 5 ESPN says we'll take Jonas Valanciunas from Lithuania. Another physical big man that likes to throw the body around.
If we pick at 1, 2, or 3 then the ESPN lotto machine gives us Derrick Williams. An athletic 3 that's learning more and more ways to score. Williams compares to Thaddeus Young and David West who are both the type of guys you want on your team, but not exactly the type of guys that can take you from the cellar to the penthouse.
Personally I want to lean towards adding a physical big man, but as the Durrant-Oden draft showed us you have to take the best player available.
Also I knew someone was missing besides Sullinger when I wrote this post and I was bummed to find out that possible Kevin Garnett clone Perry Jones is staying at Baylor. Here's to hoping we can muster up one more top 5 pick in next years draft before becoming competitive.
Dirtbag59 04-14-2011, 06:46 PM Wizards Lottery Wish List
Washington Wizards
Record: 23-59
2011-12 $M: -$18.9
The Wizards have young talent, but they need time to let it marinate. The playoff window may not begin until 2013-14, after Rashard Lewis' colossal contract expires.
The Wizards have some pieces. Obviously, John Wall is a point guard to build around. But the wild card is Andray Blatche. He could be an All-Star, but they desperately need to overhaul his mentality and get him in shape. A simple tweak to his shot selection would do wonders for the Wiz offense -- namely, convincing Blatche that he is not Dirk Nowitzki. No more launching four long 2s per game at a 30 percent clip. If he sticks around the basket, he'll be a star in this league.
The Wizards will spend next season harvesting raw talent, as they have two first-round picks in the draft and likely won't have much in the way of cap space to sign a big free agent, nor should they at this juncture. JaVale McGee may not have the basketball IQ to make huge strides, but he's already the best shot-blocker in the NBA. Get Blatche straightened out, let Wall run the show, nab Harrison Barnes and let the rest of the roster incubate.
