You only get diseases like that if you eat the brain, aka head-cheese. The thighs are all good.

Ah, no...all it takes is you eating tissue with abnormal prion protein. You're safe though...I am sure of it.

Yea, and he was probably the person that brought up the concern about Y2k or what ever that was called. It would not be easy at first but I could adjust and survive off the land. Not sure what the wife would eat but I could catch enough fish and kill enough animals to survive. If it only lasted two years we could fix the obesity problem as the fat people would be the first to die or they would loose allot of weight.

thank god you don't really believe the crap you spew around here

Yeah you're right, I am BSing a little. If it came down to it I would probably eat people, but there are plenty of other things to eat first. I already know of a ton of things to eat in the wild. Black Oak leaves, briar leaves, salad greens, dandelions, sassafras, etc.

Um Duh, Because they don't rely on a power grid for survival.

And neither did humans for much longer than they have with it. Many of us would be fine.

Um Duh, Because they don't rely on a power grid for survival.I guess for this kind of scenario you're right, the animals would still be around. I was thinking more along the line of the book (and movie) The Road where there was some kind of event that killed off most animals and plants.
Also, this guy would be screwed without power:

did the mayans{with help from the aliens}know something?:) With all the shit going down lately and this solar storm predicted for 2012 kinda makes you wonder? What if this oil leak does rupture on the seabed floor? Combine that with a solar storm and who knows what else and the future looks pretty bleak
