Did your mother really need a ride to the AP or did she just want your attention? Your wife is thinking mom gets too much attention and is mad at you. Probably both of them are fighting for your attention even if one of them might not even realize what they are doing. Also never text or email your wife over personal matters and keep them for stupid stuff like what time will you be home from work, etc...
