She was right in front of us the whole "show".

My son loved her....got a face full when she handed him that poster too, which is now hanging above his crib. :D

All of the cheerleader pics were taken by my wife...she held onto the camera for that part for some reason.

Anyways, we arrived at 9:00, drove down from PA, which only took 2 hours. Had no idea I was that close (Route 15 rocks).

Arrived early enough to get a nice view from between the two practice fields right at the rope behind the end zone and in the shade, which was important with a 2 year-old. Stayed for about 5 hours, right until the end of the scrimmage. Didn't stay for autographs.

Haynesworth was getting mocked the whole time, some really funny stuff, especially whenever he was running.

Observations:

I was VERY impressed by the defense...so many INTs, of all the QBs.

Bartel seemed to be getting more snaps than Beck in the scrimmage...maybe they're trying to get a good look before cutting him?

As I said, Vickers was surprisingly dangerous...wonder if we'll keep him. Torrain looked GREAT...had some big runs. Larry Johnson has great hands out of the backfield, we do not need Westbrook.

Orapkpo was getting to the QB a lot, despite the great O-line play.

This defense is going to be incredible this season, I foresee a ton of sacks and turnovers.

McNabb looked like he was in the best shape of his career, a lot of people made this comment. He was used in a lot off rollouts and deep passes, completing them. I expected this with Shanny's offense, but I now expect to see some big yardage plays, something we've missed for a while.

Gano is VERY accurate, but the longsnapper Sundberg causes any of his misses, he's unreliable.

Bidwell...great punter...mile-high, perfect spirals.

CP is hungry.

Carlos is playing good, not getting beat, tight coverage, making plays on the ball and even getting INTs.

LaRon...still needs some work on coverage, but if he's used in blitzes, he'll be effective there.

No Malcolm Kelly.

Also, saw "history"...Haynesworth passed and practiced!I learned more from this one post than I have from reading two weeks worth of the Redskins Insider on The Post's site. And you have some awesome pictures. Great job Buster!

Haha, thanks. I found that I was the expert among the group I was standing in. They was were obviously not Warpath members. :benched:

Whenever anyone had a question about "who's #__?", "who did he play for before/what college?" and other roster questions, I had to start handing out answers. I didn't want them to be confused. Eventually, they started coming to me.

Now this guy I was standing beside had be a little suspicious. He told someone else he goes to a lot of camps...Eagles/Giants/Ravens/Steelers and others. He had a green shirt on...only one I saw. :D Anyways, he stood there with a notepad and was doing a position chart using the players' numbers (saw his defensive one). He was also logging plays and formations in the scrimmage. He didn't even know who Ryan Torain was and didn't seem knowledgeable enough about the team to appear to be a fan of the Skins. Even my wife was suspicious.

Was he a scout for another team? Or, just a fan of football in general, possibly a stats junkie or like one of the people who keep score at baseball games (guilty myself of that)? Interesting fellow...

I have about 120 pics from the day, but that's a sampling for you.

Was a great day. It was my first ever live Redskins experience unbelievably. Next up...a game. :D

Oh, and the t-shirt my son got from the cheerleader (men's large so its mine now) says "BEAT NEW YORK" on the front of it...which is perfect. My wife's family is from NY and my next-door neighbor is also a Giants fan...will be wearing this shirt a lot. :laughing2

You definitely need to get to a game. Take the excitement of Training Camp and times it by a million.

I use to go to training camp religiously but for the past few years I have skipped out. To me it was more interesting when it was in Frostsburg or better yet Carislie.

did they have you park out in the fields again this year?

Yep, parked in this half grass/half dust field that had holes, ditches, horrible. I can't imagine how bad it would be if it rained.

Also, impossible to push a stroller through, I just picked the whole thing up with my son in it and carried him for a while. :D

I'd LOVE for it to move back to Carlisle...I'll go all the time.

But I had no idea I was so close...my wife has a relative in Leesburg and she told us about taking Rt 15 from practically my front door, right to Redskins Park. Less than 2 hours driving...last time I went to D.C., we took the Beltway...took over 3 hours. Never again.

I guess they didn't change the lot we went one year and it rained during practice got back to my buddy's Ranger it was stuck, few folks helped to get it out.

I really wish they pick a new venue.

The rest of the property/facilities is great, but as we were walking back to the car, I was thinking to myself "Snyder can't afford a little landscaping out here?"

IT is not even the "grounds" it is more the feeling, it felt more like training camp in Frostburg and Carsailie, the town/school was exicited to have them and there was a buzz around town.

At RP it misses that element.
