I'm not sure how good Okung will be, but it looks like Trent "Silverback" Williams won't leave any doubt in the Redskins' mind that they made the right choice.

On another but related note, did anyone else see Chris Samuels on the sidelines huddled up with CP and few others towards the end? Looks like he's transitioning into his new role very nicely.

I agree. The scary (in a good way) part is that it was widely acknowleged that Williams had the most ability and upside of all of the tackles.

Work ethic was supposed to be a concern but he made decisions that would ensure that he would get in camp almost immediately. Okung on the other hand chose money over what was good for the team and his development.

Trent Williams looked really solid

Torain and my Kansas State boy Banks. McNabb of course looked sharp. Portis looked good too.

Overall I think we looked more tenacious, poised, and disciplined. I hope it carries through when the games really matter.

-I was really impressed by Grossman. I thought he was excellent with the exception of one pass to Wade that really should have been a pick 6.
-Trent Williams was really solid, in my opinion. That's great to see early on.
- Brandon Banks was awesome. I really hope he can keep it up. I know they've put him in the wildcat in practice, and I'd like to have a nice gadget/return guy on our team. I never minded ARE as a receiver, but it was very refreshing to see our return game last night.
-Cooley didn't seem like he missed a beat after the injury.

Really, my only major concern was the 1st team run defense. I'm gonna chalk it up to it being their first time running the system...and I think once Hayensworth is with the 1st team, that should help too... but its something to defintley keep an eye on.

Overall, can't ask for much more out of the first preseason game. Granted, the Bills are pretty bad.. so these next two games against the Ravens and Jets should be a much better indicator of where we are...but that was some of the best Redskins football I've seen since early in 2008.

Offense:
Both Torain and K Williams. I hope we indeed can keep both. K Williams had a better ypc, but Torain played more against the Bills #1 D, so they are even in my book.

Gorssman really looked sharp!! I really hope it lasts through the regular season, then we are really tight!!!

Nice to see Devin comeback and have a nice game after the shaky start. He is definitely a lock at WR. I would like to see more of Alexander in the mix, just to see if he has what it takes. To be honest I would like to see a newbie WR over Kelly. Oft injured Wrs are useless.

Defense:

First string D was exceptional, second was pretty solid. Our scrubs, well are scrubs. The Bills scrub RBs averaged over 8 ypc later in the game, so depth at D looks like our only potential problem if injuries start to mount in the regular season. Loved D Angelo's pick in the 1st quarter.

Special teams:

Gano has a leg!!!!!
Banks TD was kickass!!!
Coverage teams did a nice job!!!!!

Overall we looked very sharp. Offense was in a solid rhythm with Donovan and Grossman. We have a great stable of RBs/FBs, and the line play was definitely improved. I am glad AH said he likes the 3-4 now, it is good for morale and means he will play his ass off. H e will excel this year and will start earning his massive paycheck. Like I said above the D looks solid, but depth might be a big issue with a lot of injuries. I know the game was a blowout, but those scrubs on D should be fighting for jobs still and they let the Bills Rbs run all over them. Next season's draft priorities should have LB high in the mix, and of course a CB or S. I saw us at 8-8 before and I will stick with that just until I see how well we handle the hot Ravens. If we look anywhere near as good with regards to offensive rhythm, and can keep the new Ravens O in check for the most part I will give my usual 10-6 prediction. I am doing this just because I think the Bills are indeed that bad. They really do not have much talent at all.

I think Torain and Keiland Williams played so well, if they keep it up I think I could envision our backfield including Portis, Torain, LJ. With Fullbacks Sellers and Keiland Williams.

The one thing about the depth of the D is our 3rd string Defense will not ever be playing in a football game that is not designated as preseason. I think we have nice depth up front, LB core, and the safteies. The only area that seems weak is CB. We have a solid core of 22 players on defense for the year not much worry about depth from my vantage point.

This team looked very solid in our first game and very prepared all the way around. I was impressed by the coaching staff and how well they had our players prepared to play.

I am going to say it now. This could be a special year if we can avoid injuries.

#36 Darrel Young played alot of backup fullback last night. He lead the way on both the Keiland Williams TDs. He is solid as well. I hope we can keep him around on the PS squad.

Dennis Morris did not play at all from what I could tell unless it was in the 4th quarter because I did not pay as close of attention to the game after the 3rd.

Grossman and Torain looked good. I'm little confused how Portis impresses, yet another chance for big play and he trips over his blockers. Hope he doesn't start, with better oline his blocking won't be as important.
