It's a long season. He could be out until week 9 or 10, of 17 total weeks. I wouldn't put a fork in Portis this year yet. Heck, if we make the playoffs, he might even have relatively fresh legs then.

Fresh legs? Hell, if his legs aren't fresh going into the fourth game of the season, forget about it.

His days as a full time starter were over even before this injury.

But as a role player, 3rd down back, he's definitely still valuable. I would guess he would still want to continue on here in D.C. with Shanahan and would take a reasonable contact to do so. We'll see how things go and if Shanahan wants him back, that's probably the key more than anything.

Ladanian Tomlison is a perfect example of someone who most thought his career was over. I would bring back Portis at a modest price.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, they still look like legs.

I doubt he's done as a Redskins but he's no longer our Number 1 RB

I disagree, thus ending Portis as being a Skin after this year. If we fired Vinny sooner, maybe his tenure would have been extended but we ran him into the ground all those years and w/o drafting a compliment or replacement back we stuck with Betts all those years. Come back and finish strong for us CP but Im sure his days here are done. He's just too much money to be injured EVERY year it seems. McNabb/this team aren't getting any younger, we have to moved on and do whats best.

I meant that he would miss five future weeks of wear-and-tear. If he does come back, he got a mid-season vacation from taking hits, so we shouldn't have to worry about him wearing down near season's end.

why not resign LJ or Parker.

I love Portis...his pass blocking will be sorely missed, especially by that POS Rabach. As for his future with the Skins, I don't know. I am sure the Skins will draft a running back next year.

Looking at next year's draft if LaMichael James (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1eIEhCDXYas) opts for the draft we should definitely do what it takes to get him.

Absolute NO to LJ. He cost us a game, can't pass block, and looked done.

And we have Edge's cousin on the PS. We cannot let him go. :D
