Schneed10 11-08-2010, 01:59 PM I don't agree with her decision to write anything about it in the first place. But she's not saying her son is gay...unless all you read is the headline
Agreed. She says "My son is gay. Or he's not. I don't care, he's still my son."
Especially a bad idea to post the photo of the kid.
mredskins 11-08-2010, 02:00 PM there are two issues here the first she allowed her so nto dress as Daphne, IMO no big deal second issue she plasterd it all over the internet, IMO big deal, BleedBurgandy is totally correct on this part and SS.
BleedBurgundy 11-08-2010, 03:11 PM I don't agree with her decision to write anything about it in the first place. But she's not saying her son is gay...unless all you read is the headline
Yes, I think my reading comprehension is to the point where I understood that. The point is, she's introducing the concept and it really doesn't have anything to do with the issue. Her typing the phrase "my son is gay" is a bad idea. If some random commenter wants to infer that, then that's just your typical internet trolling. If she wants to say, "my kid is 5 and wanted to dress up like Daphne, it's not a big deal, he's only 5," and there's no picture posted, I don't think you have near the outrage or attention that this has received. The whole thing comes off as if she's trying to use her kid for a little social activism. On it's face, that's disgusting.
firstdown 11-08-2010, 03:14 PM One thing for sure if he ever runs for office that picture will pop up the day before the election.
Monkeydad 11-09-2010, 12:41 PM She's not claiming her son is gay.
To quote the article's beginning:
MY SON IS GAY
Or he’s not.Bold, capitalized, underlined, clearly what she wanted to catch our attention, then a little disclaimer that maybe her billboarded point is not what she meant.
A mother who would post up those words in a public place (internet) for the whole world to see is clearly a questionable parent, so it wouldn't be a shock if this kid turns out mentally damaged and sexually confused.

Only if she's a Republican. Facts about Democrats get hidden until after they're in office. :cheeky-sm

OK, I'm starting a new thread.
Title: SMOOTSMACK IS GAY
First post:
"Or he's not.
<picture of you in pink polo shirt>
Discuss."
It's harmless, right? I never said you were.

Well, like I've said, if all you read is the headline then yeah you might think that all she's saying is her son is gay. But it's smart to never just read the headline. And, like I've said, I don't agree with her decision to even blog about this but I don't think this blog is going to lead him down a path of mental damage or sexual confusion

Now here's the question...
Is this due to abuse, teasing and getting exposed as gay...or is it because homosexuality is actually a mental disorder with inherent emotional issues?
