htownskinfan 12-05-2010, 07:18 PM Well I only started to show how idiotic it is to act like ranting and raving (hello Chad Dukes) means you're a more passionate fan and care more. Either way Matty is taking back over these threads
Yeah. I understand why you did it , and this wasn't meant as a dig upwards you personally.

I for one would like to see these thread titles retired{sorry Smoot}When your the laughingstock of the nfl{and make no mistake about it,we are}these thread titles just seem childish
The skins are the laughingstock of the league eh? Do you watch any games other than the Skins? We're not good, but there is far worse out there.

worse maybe, far worse i dunno about that. the bills and panthers are definitley the bottom feeders but other than that we aren't much better than the lions or bengals imo

Unfortunately, in a "what is" league, this is what the Skins are. Bottom quarter of the league, no questions asked.
Devin Thomas blocking that punt... don't want to blow it out of proportion, but that one stings.

haha,I knew someone would have a problem with that statement.I was not only talking about our record, but the organization and descisions made as a whole.Detroit did have that distinction, but since firing Matt Millen they are looking up,so is Oakland.Every week we let another team come in and set some record or do something they havent done all season. Its either slapping 59 points on us,{and it could have been 80 points}or scoring a td on their first drive{something both Minnesota and the Giants havent done all yr till playing us}or whatever, its always something.
But to say theres far worse teams out there is a stretch.I dont think we could beat Carolina right now

Carolina is a freaking mess.
And the other teams you mentioned aren't in year 1 of a new regime. Let's see where we stand next year at this time in comparison.

yes they are,no argument there.Im not talking about next yr,Im talking about this yr.
man I love your optimism, wish I had it.:)
Just trying to be fair. The years before Allen/Shanahan aren't their fault. And for their first year I wasn't expecting a miracle. We were 4-12 last year for a reason. Building a winner takes some time.

I certainly don't disagree but the thing that worries me is that they're trying to do it by adding free agents and band aids rather then building a core of young talent to build around. I'd love to be the first team to successfully pull it off, but if you want to be a regular playoff contender you need to do it by building young talent and adding role players. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Indy, New England, Philly, NY Giants are all products of building a talented young core and then building around them.
Well they had one offseason with a limited amount of draft picks and a very limited FA market. Tough to turn into Cinderella overnight with that scenario.
