Well they had one offseason with a limited amount of draft picks and a very limited FA market. Tough to turn into Cinderella overnight with that scenario.
They exacerbated their inherited problem by trading away more picks for two guys who seem to be longshots to make it even 3 more years. They also lower the drafted position we're getting in 2011 because of grabbing McNabb as well.
Yeah but they still have free agency and Snyder's wallet, which I'm sure they'll be digging deep into for 2011.

Carolina is a freaking mess.
And the other teams you mentioned aren't in year 1 of a new regime. Let's see where we stand next year at this time in comparison.
You sure? Their secondary has been top notch this season and the have a good running game. Besides, our lack of a pass rush would be a breath of fresh air for their QB.

They're battling for the #1 overall pick and will be in the market for a new HC, so yeah I'm sure they are a mess.

I think they will win the Andrew Luck sweepstakes if Luck does decide to come out, and that will make them a great team. And yes they'll have a new head coach to go with that too. Their defense is actually pretty decent, most of their struggles have to do with having really crappy quarterback play and their struggles on offense. But I just think they are having a really bad season that's not really indictive of their talent level. Not to say they have plenty of talent but I think next year they can rebound in a big way.

I don't know but we are either 1/4 or 1/3 with these threads so it might be time to switch things up.
Ok so we are now 1/5 with these threads. Good call.

Maybe you should write it 1-5, I was wondering why you were doing fractions. I assume you are speaking of wins and losses.

Driving to work this morning the local sports show, the local pro football beat writer was talking about us,and the more I started thinking about it the madder I got.
He was talking about how GB realized they had the personel to run the 3-4 and drafted wisely to help it,unlike Shanahan, who decided he wanted to run the 3-4 and take a top 5 defense and turn it into the worst defense. Its things like that is 1 of the reasons why were looked at as laughingstocks.
Matty, you said building a winner takes time, which is true. But when you pull an idiotic move like taking a top 5 defense and switching to a 3-4 without the personel to run it,the regime is not looking good from the get go.I dont see how anyone can defend Shanahans actions on that subject.
And getting back to Carolina, they might be a mess this year but they have been better than us every yr except 1 going back to 2002,
Plus,as I previously stated, their coach didnt take a top 5 defense and turn it into the worst, they didnt pay a guy 40million for 1 season of work, etc etc.Thats why were worse off than Carolina, but thats just my opinion.

What's crazy to me is that we could very well end up this season with only 1 more win to show than last season. And while I know we're rebuilding, when one takes into account that even last year we lost a bunch of tight games, it's hard to conclude that this Redskins team is any better -- any better at all -- than last year's Redskins team. Indeed, there's a compelling argument to be made that in many respects we're worse. I realize we've had some terrible injuries (such that our running game is absent and two impact players in our secondary have missed significant time in Landry and Rogers). I also realize a miracle turnaround in one season is out of the question with a decade of abject neglect and mismanagement. On the other hand, to have essentially no improvement in the product on the field (and simply having a better attitude isn't enough) is tough to swallow.
I get the impression that defeat has set in with this team this season. Even against the Eagles we fought back and scored some points. Yesterday's effort was not even close. With the playoffs out of reach, we now have to be content to wait for the offseason -- again.
