our team was a mess last year and shanny has to play with these bums...like D.HAll said.."we do not have the personnel"
with the team we have we beat 3 potential playoff teams.
I am pissed...trust me!
but I just look at the roster and all the changes done since last season and say that 5-8 makes sense. I am with you when it comes to the OC....when you have your RB run for 174 you better open up the passing attack and use what you have...cooley/davis!The coaching staff decided to make the change to the 3-4, which we absolutely do not have the personnel to run. Had we stayed in a 4-3 our D would likely be improved, not regressed.

The Zone blocking run scheme, KS's questionable playcalling, the personnel decisions on the OL, the mis-use (non-use) of creative 2TE sets, the list goes on. These are strictly coaching issues.

What great personnel decisions have been made? J. Brown has been inconsistent (to put it kindly), Rabach is still our strating C, I find it hard to believe Dock (our most consistent lineman last year) suddenly sucks and is demoted. Kemo? Carriker? These are all stop-gap measures....and in the meantime we've traded away 3rd - 4th rounders for 2011. We've found a couple of RBs, but outside of that I think we have more needs going into this off-season than we had last year.

and Hall makes some plays but also has his share of liabilities.

chemistry is a huge part of football (ex. steelers) this team still needs to mold and we (A) do not have the parts to be a well oiled machine....get the parts and let the chemistry take place.

very true, sometimes it's said to be a skins fan. this year has been really hard, this is the first time i have ever missed a home game in atleast 7 years and i missed two, we lost both(colts and bucs). and i didn't even watch a minute of the lions game(out of the country). it's a season like this that makes you evaluate how you spend you sundays and your extra cash. i love the skins and alwasy will, but until the team starts showing alot more signs of progress i will continue to be less and less vested in each game. i know we will get better eventually it's just said that this franchise has such a hard fall from the top, or not even the top but relevance in the nfl year in and year out. hopefully the shanahan's are the right ones for the job, i feel very comfortable with bruce allen as the gm and think he will be a great fixture for this team, i just don't think the shanahans will pan out, but i really hope i am wrong. only time will tell.

Special teams today...2 missed field goals, 1 missed extra point, fumble on kickoff. Ouch, Danny Smith might have to go. Special teams cost us the game today folks. Plain and simple

How about the offense not getting the ball in the endzone? How about all of the 3 & outs in the second half?

Also, did anybody else notice the furious intensity with which the offense was able to execute the 2 minute drill? Why can't they match that intensity earlier, say, in the 3rd quarter, or -- all game long like other teams? Why not just out of the blue in the middle of the game run the no-huddle?

This is the part that bothers me the most... It seems like we can say this every single week. It would be one thing if it was a, "Oh! We just need another draft or another FA class." It just doesn't seem like the case. It just scares the crap outta' me that no matter who is here, who is GM, who is coach, what defense we run, who we play... the results just seem to be the same no matter what. :(

It is plain and simple, the Danny is a win now type of guy and after Gibbs left and Mr Cooke died the organization went to hell. Norv did the best he could to keep the franchise competitive, and so did Marty in his one year stint ith us, but after the decent HCs lefts, we got gimmicks(Spurrier, Gibbs II), bad experiments(Zorn), and now an overrated HC. Sorry guys, but this guy had loads of talent post Elway and never got past a divsional title after John left. The whole thing is there needs to be a plng term plan in place to build a winner. THus far, I am not tht impressed with the Allen/Shanahan regime in Redskins Park. THey can rectify that by making a lot of solid moves in the offseason that tell me they do in fact have a solid plan in building a winner here.

WE HAVE OLD AND BAD players!

You do realize that the coach is also the personnel dude who has continued to add even more old and bad players instead of just blowing it up this year and use the year strictly for evaluation? Bruce Allen is just a figurehead GM. And don't give me the "fans would not accept a rebuild" excuse. Most Redskins fans are also Caps fans(I have apostatized, but I still know what they did to get where they are now), so there is TANGIBLE evidence to successfully sell a rebuild to the fans.

It's not even that, it's almost supernatural. I cannot think of another team that just has the plain bad luck that the Redskins have. I just can't even describe it.

The Caps simply don't matter to Washington nearly as much as the Redskibs do. Doesn't matter how many SAT words you use, you can't tell Skins fans to be patient while we rebuild. I don't believe for a seco d most fans would have the maturity to accept that
