History would indicate that some of them will be busts. The only year in recent memory when even the first 3 QBs drafted were successful was 2004 with Eli, Rivers, and Big Ben. Drafting top QB's is less than a 50-50 proposition, even at the very top of the draft.

Well so far Stafford and Bradford seem to have fared well. Of course we are very early in their careers, but I think they are going to have successful careers.

I think that you misunderstood him.

I must admit that I am guilty of not opening your link to support your point. I saw media written all over that link with its bias spin. Forgive me please, but using a twitter? Wow!

I think Luck has good size, excellent arm strength, great accuracy, and good mobility. Ryan Mallet has great size, good arm strength, great accuracy, and good poise in the pocket. Cameron Newton has great size, great arm strength, good accuracy, and great mobility. Blaine Gabbert has great size, great passing mechanics, great arm strength, and good mobility. Jake Locker is a good with quick release, good arm strength, and great mobility. Now I know outside of Luck there are concerns about all of these players. However, I think all of them will be alright if put in the right situation.

Well since it's that time again.. Here's my take on what we should do in the draft.

(Realistic options)
R1, #10)
Nick Fairley DT/DE: I've been guilty of riding the Auburn bandwagon and Nick Fairley is just a beast. He'd be PERFECT as a 3-4 DE.
AJ Green WR: The most dominant receiver in College, bar none.
Von Miller OLB: I've only seen highlights, but looks to be a great pass rusher/tackling machine.
Blaine Gabbert QB: Forget the Jake Locker/Cam Newton/Ryan Mallett stuff.. Only Blaine Gabbert makes any sense at #10.

R2, #9)
Jeremy Beal OLB: VERY good 2nd round talent, and the best part... He wins!
Stefen Wisniewski C/G: I think he would solidify our offensive line along side Silverback. I think he's probably the best guy to step right into center.
Corey Liuget DT: If he does end up declaring for the draft, this guy would be a good second round option if Fairley doesn't work out in the first round.
Jake Locker QB: I hate to do this.. but Shanahan might just think he'll be able to work some magic with all the "intangibles" and the "raw talent", but don't be fooled...

R5, #13 and #28)
Kelvin Sheppard ILB: Great leader, tackling machine.. Probably won't be available.. but it's possible.
Josh Bynes ILB: Winner, very good in the box, great against the run.. Bad in coverage (think McIntosh), and terrible hands.
Vincent Brown WR: Speed + Hands + Pretty good size. We need to take a risk on a guy like this.
Tejay Johnson FS: One of the better defensive players on TCU. Good leader, fast, big, lacks top end football IQ, good depth player.
Brooks Reed OLB: Very fast and explosive on the rush, not a very good cover guy.

*Note I'm a college football freak and would love to give my input on certain players.

I would pull a Ditka for Luck, a man amongst boys!! The next Tom Brady.

The funny thing is, who thought the same about Tom when he got drafted.

No way luck falls to us at 10. He's a number one pick if he comes out.

Well when I wrote this I didn't realize Luck was the most coveted QB and rumor was he would be the #1 draft pick most likely. I did mention I don't follow college ball as much as others.

But watching the game last night left me not as excited about him as I was before last nights game. He (to me) just looked sloppy and inactivate for the first two quarters. I guess there would have to more of looking at his overall season and play which I didn't watch.

But.... Dalton still looked good to me.

The Panthers have many needs like we do.
But unlike us they have a Jimmy Clausen.
Since they have so many holes to fill I'd not be surprised if they draft defense #1 and go with Clausen.
