I guess I am confused about scoring TDs is considered "style points". Moving the ball and TOP are great (and so was the W) but having 1st and goal on the 3 vs maybe the worst team in the NFL and not scoring both times is downright lousy.
Its effective vs the bad teams but not scoring against the good teams only ensures a L.
I'm not downplaying the importance of scoring especially when you have 1st and goal, but look at the big picture for a moment. We controlled the clock and most importantly we won the game. It wasn't pretty but a win is always a win no matter how you get to the end result. I doubt the Eagles are complaining after a 12-7 win over Dallas.
Sure it would have been nice to come away with at least one TD down there, preferably two, but with the season we've had I'm not going to complain about a win.

here here. the Skins' have it in their minds they are a better team than their record. and they are, and that mentality is what keeps the team from 'accepting' their record and giving up. not punching it in like that vs. such a bad team affects the team's confidence. Portis looked less happy on saturday 17 points ahead and having more yards than he did 3 points down vs. Philly with less yards.
