SBXVII 06-15-2011, 08:45 PM I think it boils down to two things....
1- How bad does the Eagles DC want Haynesworth?
2- How bad does Haynesworth want out of here and with the Eagles?
To the Skins its obviously smart to get what we can get, some here would say he "should" be worth a 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Others would laugh and say he's not worth that now. Some would say he's worth a 3rd round or 4th round pick and again others would laugh and say we'd be lucky to get that. Persoanally with no one wanting him he's worth nothing. So lets see how bad the Eagles want him. We all know he's an out of shape player and can't last more then 4-6 plays in a row before tiring out and leaving the field. Thats solved by zone blocking and rolling out the QB until ole Haynesworth tires out then we can run right around him. But.... again how bad do the Eagles want him?
Then there is how bad does Haynesworth want to be out of here and with the Eagles? Enough to pay back some of the money? Because "if" it's true the Eagles want him we actually have options now... we can trade him to the Eagles for perhaps decent value, we can trade him to one of the other teams that were mentioned to be interested for cheap, or we can sit on him and let him rot on the bench pissing off him and his ole ball coach with the Eagles.
NLC1054 06-15-2011, 08:51 PM Mike Shanahan isn't going to deal Haynesworth to a division rival unless Philly are willing to cough up some premium draft picks. I'm talking second and third round draft picks, or at least one or the other, on top of possibly another player.
Without that, I don't see Mike trading him. Maybe Haynesworth signs there as a free agent, but he won't be worth the money he spends. I don't see him being motivated to work for Juan Castillo if he wouldn't work for Jim Haslett. I don't care if Washburn is the d-line coach. Castillo still calls the plays.

If there's a couch, you know AH will be on it rather than doing his fitness drills.

...Quiet, you...
Schneed10 06-15-2011, 10:20 PM Is there anything other than our own conjecture indicating that the Redskins are intent on trading Haynesworth?
I mean it makes sense to do it, but it's quite possible the 'Skins are willing to just sit on the guy.
Regardless though, there's no way I'd trade him within the division, especially not to a team who runs a system he likes and has a coach he's worked well with in the past. The whole reason he won't play for us is he hates our system. As soon as he gets back into a system he likes he's going to turn it back on. If he goes to the Eagles he'll destroy us, there's no circumstance where I'd make that trade.
Gmanc711 06-15-2011, 11:17 PM Keep him far away from the NFC East. Still one of the most dangerous 4-3 DTs in the NFL if properly motivated. PLaying us = proper motivation.
I agree completely. I mean as much crap as he gets (and deservedly so) he has played 2-4 motivated games even with us and he's a freaking beast. You know he'd kick our ass twice a year if he went to Philadelphia. Send him to the AFC for a mid round pick and just forget he was ever here.
53Fan 06-15-2011, 11:52 PM After McNabb I never want to trade with the Iggles again.
Longtimefan 06-16-2011, 07:58 AM NFL Network's Jason La Canfora suspects that the Redskins will not get more than a fifth-round pick in a trade of Albert Haynesworth.
La Canfora, a former longtime Skins beat writer, believes Washington would be wary of trading Haynesworth to the Eagles, who are known to have interest. "I think they'd trade him for a seventh-round pick somewhere outside the division before they dealt him to the Eagles now, with (DL coach Jim) Washburn there, or cut him," says La Canfora. "They should have taken a fifth for him last offseason and ended the circus then."

KI Skins Fan 06-16-2011, 09:11 AM Sure, trade him to the Eagles. Let him become their problem. If he were to become an Eagles player, I would enjoy watching him take a short nap during a play in front of their understanding and supportive fans.
Having him in the division wouldn't hurt us. He's sure to be way out of shape when the season starts so he'd probably only play about ten or twelve plays a game for the Eagles. Plus, it's a good bet that he'll do something to get himself suspended before the Eagles even play us.
The important thing is to get him off our team as soon as possible.
KLHJ2 06-16-2011, 09:44 AM Hanynesworth for Kolb or Vick is the only way I would deal him to the Eagles. Trades like that only happen on Madden though.
Everyone knows that the Skins are just going to get rid of him so they are going to hold off on any trades of value and just wait for him to be a free agent.
