I'm with Ruhskins. Although Cofield is a good player, I fear a square peg-round hole situation.
I hope I am wildly wrong.

TheMalcolmConnection 07-27-2011, 08:26 AM So far I have been very pleased with the moves. A lot of budget-friendly signings and the loyalty shown to Santana to not drag things out has been nice, just like he asked. Only thing we need to do now is move Haynesworth and we've already had a successful off-season in my opinion. MTK 07-27-2011, 08:28 AM I can see us playing a variety of fronts with the guys we have. Skins4L 07-27-2011, 08:28 AM Cofield was a good pickup. He's not an elite DT but he works and hell make a play or two for us definetly. SmootSmack 07-27-2011, 08:28 AM Not based on anything, but I wouldn't be surprised to see more 4-3 formations this season. Skins4L 07-27-2011, 08:32 AM What does this mean for Fat Al? Ruhskins 07-27-2011, 08:33 AM What does this mean for Fat Al? Nothing, since he probably wasn't in the Redskins plans at all. This probably affects other D-Linemen such as Daniels. Mechanix544 07-27-2011, 08:40 AM hey, never even thought of moving back to the 43, But would osackpo and the rookie lb stay as lbs or line up on the end? i guess there are a variety of things they could try..... Longtimefan 07-27-2011, 08:42 AM Nothing, since he probably wasn't in the Redskins plans at all. This probably affects other D-Linemen such as Daniels. Golston, Jarmon Schneed10 07-27-2011, 08:48 AM Cofield is versatile. He is stout at the point of attack and won't give ground in the run game, and he also can flash a bit of quickness to penetrate once in a while. Good solid all-around space eater, gets off blocks reasonably well, I like the move. I can remember plenty of 'Skins Giants games where we went 2 or 3 yards and a cloud of dust because we couldn't seem to move Cofield in the middle. Not that our offensive line were world-beaters, mind you. But he's capable of altering the plans of the offense in some fashion, he's hard to run at and hard to move off the ball. I'd like to see him at end so he can help keep blockers off Orakpo and Kerrigan. |
