Praise the lord. Lichtensteiger has me in his corner. Unlike Montgomery he is mean.

I definitely don't have as much confidence in Will Montgomery though, I think we need a bigger sample size from him. I watched him play in college at VT and he was never that impressive there either. MTK 07-29-2011, 07:42 AM I think way too many people are sleeping on Kory, way too many people I think so too. He was solid last year. In fact I think people are sleeping on our OL in general. They were solid down the stretch and with a QB that will actually get the ball out on time they'll look even better. diehard 07-29-2011, 08:42 AM Daniels will be back as a coach. skinsfan69 07-29-2011, 08:52 AM glad to see they're cuting some dead weight. daniels and rabach needed to go. both good guys but it was long over due. 12thMan 07-29-2011, 08:59 AM I agree. I think our offensive line suffered more from a lack of offensive continuity in general more than it did from lack of effort or talent. Too many parts were constantly changing. New running back week to week, new wideout combinations, McNabb never seemed to fully grasp the system and playbook. We never settled on one lineup although you got the feeling that given the chance this group could really play well together, and I think they will. All of that is behind them now and they'll be more comfortable with the way Shanny does things. 12thMan 07-29-2011, 09:00 AM Smoot, if Daniels is back I hope it's not with the Redskins. Under any circumstances. NC_Skins 07-29-2011, 09:03 AM I think so too. He was solid last year. In fact I think people are sleeping on our OL in general. They were solid down the stretch and with a QB that will actually get the ball out on time they'll look even better. This. I saw more issues at the QB position last year than I did with the OL. People see what they want to see, and blame it on who they want to blame it on. Many of those horrible McNabb games had solid OL play in it. (Detroit game is the exception) Monkeydad 07-29-2011, 09:08 AM This. I saw more issues at the QB position last year than I did with the OL. People see what they want to see, and blame it on who they want to blame it on. Many of those horrible McNabb games had solid OL play in it. (Detroit game is the exception) Seriously? The team gave up about 50 sacks and we can't even count the number of botched snaps and QB trips from Rabach. All of our QBs were running for their lives. Less than a month into the season, McNabb was limping around like he stepped on a porcupine. We all remember Rex's first play behind that line (Suh). Now, McNabb was horrible himself also, did not grasp the offense and did not seem to want to learn and he often looked like a point guard throwing bounce passes into the post...past his prime obviously, but a little more time to throw and less scrambling on a bum ankle would have at least helped a little. The O-line was atrocious...which helped a bad QB (for this system) be worse. Rex knew the offense and was able to get the ball out quicker, thankfully. The line seemed to grasp the run-blocking schemes very well, we had a great running game with whomeverwas at RB (Portis, Torain, Williams...) but pass protection needed some work, especially in the middle with Casey "Turnstile" Rabach. |
