It was just a matter of time...Let's hope Bashar al-Assad is next.

Why is it that dictators never go away quietly? Seriously, transfer some stash somewhere and go retire quietly before the shit hits the fan.

In the case of qaddafi I think he is quite delusional and he he believes alot of the stuff he says. Also these guys have been in power for such a long time they probably don't feel they could lose control.

I'll have to say I agree with him. We sink money and lives into these things and get nothing but more dept and hate from over there. Why not get something in return.

The oil is the big thing. Every time the US/UK intervenes, throws a coup or invades, it is about natural resources(oil) or pipelines(Afghanistan).

Yes, we're stealing their oil, as reflected by out current absurdly low prices....<rolls_eyes>

The new twist to all this is if a ME nation pushes for a diversification of what currency ME oil is bought in. Saddam wanted it to be bought in Euros, the Iranians want the same thing.

Euros? Yes, the Euro is a fine example of 'stable currency'.....<rolls_eyes>

We already took out Saddam, and are itching to take out Iran. The nuclear crap is just another WMD type fiasco.

Except for the fact they admit they have more centrifuges than they know what to do with (for civillian purposes), added to the fact they have ICBM technology. Would you want to be Israel and have a psychotic neighbor who's stated intent is to wipe you from the map?

Israel is the only successful democracy in the ME, they deserve our support.

Anyone else concerned at the Muslim Brotherhood being poised to sweep the region?

It won't end well.

The part where he says "to the victor goes the spoils of war" which entails procurement of goods without consent. Then he says we should charge them which entails having an agreement in place to remove a dictator for a fee. If the united states wishes to be a mercenary force that's fine...just spell it out up front.

Oh, and lets not forget who are talking about removing here...someone the United States and its NATO allies have deemed a threat which raises the question who is being helped here?
