‘The Walking Dead’ Premiere Shatters Cable Demo Ratings Records, Draws 7.3 Million Total Viewers – Deadline.com (http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/the-walking-dead-premiere-shatters-cable-demo-ratings-records-draws-7-3-million-total-viewers/)
impressive
Funny how people freak out over 2.5 men's drop to 17 million last monday and 14 million this Monday where as Walking Dead gets critical acclaim for drawing in 7 million viewers. Granted the violent nature of the show already handicaps how many people are able to watch it but hey as long as it keeps them pumping out new episodes I'll be happy.
Maybe it's just me but the zombies look a lot better this season overall save one that seemed to have barely any makeup during the highway scene.

Network vs cable... Different animals. 7M is big for cable.

Whats the deal with that? I can understand in the 90's where if you didn't get cable on a TV you could still get the major networks of CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox with rabit ears, however now pretty much everyone that has access to cable gets access to channels like AMC, FX, Comedy Central, MTV, USA, etc. The only place where you might not get certain cable channels like AMC would be if you were in a hotel.

Count me in as one of the people who are now all the way back to square one regarding the storyline. I am impressed that a show can actually be independant and different of the source material. Unlike Game of Thrones, while it is an absolutley amazing show, I kept trying to tell myself that Ned Stark was gonna make it even though i knew otherwise (up until the point that the new book came out, where Ned was revealed to be "existing" still)
We look forward every sunday to TWD...and i hear this year we are going to get episodes all the way through November, and then the show takes a break and comes back in February to finish up. So that makes it kind of nice, only having to wait 6 months at the end of the season before a new season comes out...

I enjoyed this second episode, really keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole series.
Here is one other thing that annoys me about this show and well basically all "end of world" shows. How do guys keeps keep their bread and hair so short?

One thing that annoys me about ep 2 is that the house the vet lives in is not board up or some sort of security against the undead. Really with those things walking around you just leave your house as business as usually? My house would be looking like something from Night of the Living Dead.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. How can that place not be more fortified?
Episode 2 was really good. So ballsy that they went after those medical supplies at the overrun hospital. Crazy scene.

Wait, it runs through November then comes back in February? That's 3 months, right?
And you're saying it's going to be a total of 3 seasons? I suppose that makes sense. You can't really run a show with this kind of plot-line for more than a few seasons.
