It's the FO's job to have competent reserves in place. Failing to maintain a certain level performance after an injury shows a failure to do that job.

Hell, they haven't even got around to replacing all the "starters" and people are villifying them for having depth?

Not sure what you all expected. The restricted FA his first year and a lockout the following off-season. You can't make something out of nothing.

I was at the game today and I DO think the Skins are going the right way and have improved the team since last season. I anticipate them having a huge offseason once this one is done. I think they have a decent team....BUT
The squad they are able to field at this point does not appear to have the talent to compete at a reasonable level.....AND is damn hard to watch.
Thank goodness I have the demon alcohol to help me through this......Httr!

Well, I do cut them some slack. As you said, you can't get both great starters and quality depth for every position all in one offseason, especially with the "spring is almost dry".

But at the same time, they did willingly choose to engage in a couple risky and potentially costly short-term moves that still might have delayed progress in acquiring young talent. This is where the "really bad" aspect of their failure lies.

However, it seems they learned their lesson and are finally "hunting" the "right" way. Hold on to the draft picks, make low-risk trades, and use free agency judiciously.

We were at the same game but we clearly saw two different teams. I saw a far less talented and competitive team than the 1 win Dolphin team they faced. I am hoping for a huge offseason too, they need one because they are severely lacking in playmakers and team speed. They have to play a perfect game in order to win and just don't have those type of players.

My fear is they are at least 2 more offseasons away from being a legitimate playoff team. I don't think there are more than 6 players on our entire roster that could start on a good team so there's lots to build.

Speed is a HUGE PROBLEM for the skins, we simply don't have enough of it on offense.. AA doesn't really count bcuz he'll be cut after this yr and neither does banks

Let's see:

QB: Ain't got one (big, big trouble)
WR: Moss, Hankerson
TE: Davis, Cooley
OL: Williams (no one else, this is where I see trouble)
RB: Helu/Hightower

OLB: Kerrigan, Orakpo
DL: Jenkins, Bowen, Cofield
ILB: Fletcher/ possibly Riley if he plays on a consistent basis like today
S: Landry
CB: None (they all suck!!)
P: Rocca
K: Gano

Paul is this teams James Thrash, he can't be considered a receiving threat or else he'd have already shown glimpses.

He started catching the ball in the game in which he got hurt, no he didn't have a Hankerson type game cause he wasn't featured but if given the chance I see good things. Remember when people were saying Hankerson should be cut? Well, is I guess he got a lot better over a few weeks.
