The Redskins have the flexibility to increase that number considerably. But that's only enough to resign our current free agents. With Dwight Lowery going off the market and with the LB and RB markets being slow to develop, if we get Fletcher under contract pretty soon I would expect the Redskins to take a step back and try to get trade value for our excess of receivers. GTripp0012 03-13-2012, 11:18 PM Jabar Gaffney clears up $2.65 million if released. Santana Moss and Anthony Armstrong: $0.1 million each. CrazyCanuck 03-13-2012, 11:40 PM 2012 cap numbers: Garcon: $4.3 million Morgan: $2.9 million Carriker: $1.7 million Facts or estimates? Post of the day GTripp0012 03-13-2012, 11:58 PM Facts or estimates?Facts, but there's a margin of error related to option bonus structure, which I am not certain of. With Carriker, his 250,000 year 1 roster bonus is in there. With the others, it's just amortized signing bonus plus salary. Mostly just worried about finding out if there's any workout bonuses in there. CrazyCanuck 03-14-2012, 12:29 AM 2012 cap numbers: Garcon: $4.3 million Do you have a source for Garcon's number? Not trying to bust your balls I'm just curious cuz I've seen conflicting reports. This story Redskins reach deals with two wide receivers, re-sign DE Adam Carriker - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/redskins-reach-deals-with-three-wide-receivers-re-sign-de-adam-carriker/2012/03/13/gIQA9xQXAS_story.html) says "He accepted a five-year deal from the Redskins worth $42 million — $21.5 million of it guaranteed — according to people with knowledge of the situation." If you assume a $21.5M signing bonus, his 2012 SB allocation would be $4.3M. Add in salary and/or roster bonus and his cap hit is over $5M at least. This story Ex-Colts receiver Pierre Garcon agrees to 5-yr, $42.5M deal with Redskins - The Washington Post (http://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/redskins/ex-colts-receiver-pierre-garcon-says-hes-signing-with-the-redskins-on-1st-day-of-free-agency/2012/03/13/gIQAhTGCAS_story.html) says "The contract includes $20.5 million in guaranteed money, with an $11 million signing bonus." If you assume an $11M signing bonus, his 2012 SB allocation would be $2.2M. How do you get to $4.3M? |
