Was he all that fast anyway? I thought that was why Paul and Robertson was brought in, for speed. Hank was the big possession WR we needed. The big question will be how will it effect him off the LOS and the jam?
My question is why wasn't this done a month after he got the injury? I'm thinking all along he did and that he was almost done with recovery and would be ready 100% come camp.
Hank did run a 4.4 at the combine. That's fast enough.

Shanny likes smaller, inside swing linemen that are a little shorter and more athletic. Montgomery fits the bill.
Montgomery is very strong. Doesn't seem to translate on the field, but he was like 30 plus 225 if I remember right.

Thanks for that; I had forgotten. Yup, 4.4 is fast enough.

JLC reporting Monty's 4 year extension worth a max of $12 million, no signing bonus.Surprisingly team friendly. Typically, deals like this are one or two year deals, just so the player has some flexibility. But here, the Redskins have all the flexibility for 4 seasons.

From what I understand, we can cut him any time and suffer no losses before the season starts, of any year in the contract. This is the way the GreenBay Packers have most of their players contracts structured. I like it.

I like it.I wouldn't even say the Packers structure their contracts this way because you typically can't get players to agree to this when they are free agents, no matter how much you want to. Bottom line is Monty wants to be here and didn't want to see what was out there in free agency. Ever.
I would be surprised if he didn't get a salary guarantee for 2012 though. The least they can do if he's going to sign his rights to the Redskins though 2015 with no SB is guarantee his 2012 roster spot.
