cables are cables. if they're in business with that kind of mark up, hats off to them

Video geeks have tested hdmi cables across the board. A monster cable vs. a generic one (bought on monoprice) showed absolutely no visual difference in quality when watching blu-rays. You can search through forums like AVS (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/) for confirmation.

Why the hate? A standard monster hdmi cable may run you anywhere from 30-40 bucks. A cable from monoprice is around two. The monster markup is beyond ridiculous.

you guys know its a franchise and not a chain right? as in, individual owners can do things differently if they want. the pricing on anything besides DVD sales or below wholesale computer part rebate things is awful though (and they haven't had good deals on computer parts for years now).

I prefer HH Gregg, Newegg and Crutchfield.

Only things I remember ever buying from Best Buy were a prepaid phone and a TV stand.
