I guess Addison impressed during the pre-season game against the skins? Maybe that's were the skins watched him.

Undrafted rookie DE Mario Addison stands out - Inside the Bears (http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2011/08/undrafted_rookie_de_mario_addi.html)

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. (http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=J7AnorXXJlk&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DJ7AnorXXJlk)

Excellent research papers on this kid. Hopefully he can get some playing time and compete. I'm not too sold on Chris Wilson and Rob Jackson is a good OLB, but he's as good as he's going to get. Maybe Bruce Allen saw enough of this kid Mario Addison to sign him as a free agent and play once he's learned the defense. Maybe he plays exactly like Orakpo or DeMarcus Ware.

This is one of the issues I have with Shanahan. He brought Haslett in knowing he hadn't run a 3-4 defense in 11 years, and that Haslett does NOT want to run the 3-4. He wants to run the 4-3 defense. So this in itself boggles my mind as to why Mike would put himself and another person in this type of situation. Why get somebody who hasn't ran that scheme in a decade and who doesn't want to run that scheme?

They brought him here to learn the 3-4 and most likely transition over to DC.

says your thoughts or what you've heard?

I just got through watching the highlight video on Marion Addison. Just one question: how did this kid go undrafted? His game is similar to a Jared Allen, Dwight Freeney, or a Jason Pierre-Paul. The guy was unstoppable in those highlights. Maybe he was an underclassman who declared for the draft but didn't match up too well with the top DEs in the country in 2011. Or maybe he had a poor showing at that year's NFL Combine. Or more than likely NFL scouts and GMs turned a blind eye to him and he simply went unnoticed.

Or maybe it just looks good because you only watched his YouTube highlights, vinny cerrato. Lol

Markus White went unnoticed. Chris Wilson hasn't been effective.

I've heard a few insiders (including Smoot) comment that Haslett was on the hot seat even as of last year. Few of them even mention that when Dan, Bruce, Mike, and Kyle go to dinner to Raheem Morris when they first were interested, they didn't even bother to bring Haslett along. You don't even bring your DC along on a secondary coach hire? Now mind you, he had a DC job lined up at the Vikings and turned it down. The clues are there and it really doesn't take much to add them all up and see what it spells out.

I think Haz is on the seat but I'm not one if those who necessarily thinks Raheem is a lock to be the next DC

Neither do I to be honest with you. Not sure you can bring in a guy with little experience in the 3-4 and expect him to be your DC without suffering.

So far, I haven't seen anything in the secondary to make me get excited with the prospects of having Raheem take over as DC, so I'm good with going in a completely new direction.
