I'm really not sure how I feel about this. As the son of a Terps football season ticket holder I guess this will make for more exciting games, as long as recruiting picks up a bit. But I feel like this comes at the expense of basketball, which I don't like. CultBrennan59 11-19-2012, 11:52 AM People are making a huge deal out of this; fact is Maryland has been complete crap in both football and basketball the past 10 years. I don't see how them moving to the Big 10 is going to help them in terms of wins. Sure they'll make money, but the money only keeps coming for so long until you continue to lose then get kick out of the conference for sucking; i.e. Temple in the Big East was awful, gets kicked out, sent to the MAC does well, now back to the Big East we're they're struggling. This is just stupid for Maryland. That Basketball team will be test just as much as that football team. Now Rutgers moving to the B1G would be a good move. They seem like they're that Big 10 defense type of team. Basketball wise though, they will struggle, but not as much since the big east is better than the big 10. SmootSmack 11-19-2012, 12:22 PM This is a great move for the school 12thMan 11-19-2012, 12:39 PM I don't like it. How is it a great move, SS? Also Rutgers may be making the move, too. ArtMonkDrillz 11-19-2012, 02:09 PM I don't follow lacrosse all that much but I do root for the Terps to do well and I usually try to watch them in the NCAA tournament, so I am interested in seeing out this will play out: Conference Realignment: Maryland, Rutgers and the Great Unknown of Big Ten Lacrosse - College Crosse (http://www.collegecrosse.com/2012/11/19/3662714/conference-realignment-maryland-big-10-ten-rutgers-lacrosse) Monkeydad 11-19-2012, 02:27 PM I don't like it. How is it a great move, SS? Also Rutgers may be making the move, too. Big 11 has more money, a TV Network that the school will get a slice of...and weaker teams. That conference is garbage this year. With teams like Nebraska, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, you'd expect a ton of success. This season, not so much. The Terps might actually be a little more competitive in football and the conference will be a cakewalk for the basketball team compared to UNC, Duke, etc. Apparently, Maryland had no choice, they needed money desperately.
