I guess this is the new fire Shanahan thread for this week.
Brandon Meriweather, You Big Tease (Injury News)MTK 11-19-2012, 08:27 PM I guess this is the new fire Shanahan thread for this week. GoSkins! 11-19-2012, 08:32 PM The other thing to consider is that a top tier veteran QB can help a team overcome a lot of injury problems. Manning(s), Brady, Rogers.... these guys all had problems like ours and still made it all the way to the dance. I believe that in RGIII we have found our guy. He will be able to do that too. I just think that this year is to soon to expect those types of heroics. As good as he plays, I still see him miss a few big plays a game that I think he will be hitting regularly in a year or two and help to compensate for the injuries that happen in a violent sport like this. 44Deezel 11-19-2012, 08:34 PM Every team has injuries, today it was announced that Willis McGahee went out 6-8 weeks with a torn right MCL. Dallas potentially lost their starting LT Clay Matthews for GB has been out. The list is never ending. I don't know how good, or bad, our strength and conditioning programs are. Supposedly when Shanahan got here they were one of the worst in the league, but are now getting better (moreso do to BA), but I don't know how to prove or disprove it. My point is, Every team's fans think their injuries are the worst, but I would be surprised if there was a statistically relevant amount more on the Skins team. Gronk out too. Kills my fantasy team. More time for him to bang porn stars though;) Hog1 11-19-2012, 08:44 PM I heard that earlier.....what a total BallBuster! He made a measurable diff yesterday! FFFF....n shame we can't catch a break. Decent coaching staff could have seen this coming and intervened....WTF? NC_Skins 11-19-2012, 08:50 PM now its 8 starters? Helu was not slated as a starter - didnt morris start week one. Garcon is back so if we cant count the Giants that didnt miss the WHOLE YEAR than we cant count him. Prince Amakamura played 7 games last year so how does he not make your list of injured Giants starters, but Garcon makes ours? Tuck, Osi - both missed games last year. RAK, Carriker, Davis (who also did not miss the entire season), BW, - you wanna say Brown - go ahead - I knew he was damaged goods and his status was clearly up in the air before the year started. Here is an excerpt from Football Outsiders - you should read it before you say that NOBODY has Success with injuries. Helu was a starter last year and was injured in training camp. It was a surprise he wasn't IR'd from the get go. So yes, he is a starter. Are Rak and Carikker coming back? NO. GONE FOR THE SEASON. Wow, they played 2 games!!! I think you know exactly what I mean when I say gone for the entire season. That means, they get injured and not coming back. In your Giants instance, those players came back. Only 2 starters did not come back. Those are the two I mentioned. I know Osi/Tuck missed games, I CLEARLY stated that some of their starters missed games. You know why I didn't mention Amukamura? HE WASN'T STARTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because he was a last 1st round pick doesn't mean he's a starter. As noted by him not starting ANY of those 7 games he played in. Prince Amukamara NFL Football Statistics - Pro-Football-Reference.com (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AmukPr00.htm) Also, he didn't have a injured foot that's caused him to be at 80% strength. Truthfully, Garcon shouldn't even be playing. Did you even notice he was on the field this past Sunday? I sure didn't. I'm done with this. Until you find me proof that a team has dropped 7-8 starters for the remainder of the season and still excelled, then you are wasting your time. I debunked the claims of the 2011 Giants and 2010 Packers did so. Also.. you're wrong. WrjwaqZfjIY MTK 11-19-2012, 09:01 PM How are we missing 7-8 starters to injury?? By my count we have the following starters on IR: Orakpo, Carriker, Davis. Jamal Brown is on PUP. I'm not counting Helu, there was no guarantee he would have won the job over Morris. Even if you want to count him that's not 8 guys. punch it in 11-19-2012, 09:10 PM Helu was a starter last year and was injured in training camp. It was a surprise he wasn't IR'd from the get go. Ross stunk and itvwas a matter of time until Prince took over. Helu like Matty said was never a guarantee and incase you havent noticed we havent missed a beat with Almo? Did you even read the excerpt from abvove? Its almost uncanny how many teams have gone to and or won the superbowl with major major injuries! To sit there and say they werent missing Starters like Jamal Brown, Roy Helu, and Brandon Merriweather is nothing short of pure delusion. Lotus 11-19-2012, 09:13 PM I guess this is the new fire Shanahan thread for this week. Meriweather is out therefore Shanny must go. It's logical. punch it in 11-19-2012, 09:13 PM How are we missing 7-8 starters to injury?? By my count we have the following starters on IR: Orakpo, Carriker, Davis. Jamal Brown is on PUP. I'm not counting Helu, there was no guarantee he would have won the job over Morris. Even if you want to count him that's not 8 guys. That is completely rite on. Three guys. One of which - Davis actually played a handful of games. MTK 11-19-2012, 09:14 PM Ok so we can add Meriweather. Still doesn't add up to 8 guys. |
