Bucket 11-27-2012, 02:35 PM He's hurt Smoot. So he's worthless! CURSE HIM, HE SUCKS!! ARGH!
I liked JB when he could play. Seemed like a good character dude too. Really liked in the locker room
The Goat 11-27-2012, 07:04 PM I can respect that argument. Merry Christmas you ahole, I can't
Take it easy Francis, I was being sarcastic. Bad humor.

"No surprise that the Redskins have a 3-0 record with long snapper Nick Sundberg on the roster, as we catch up with the resident tough guy before the Giants game."
Mechanix544 11-27-2012, 07:52 PM I don't get the hatred for Brown, but whatever
maybe because he played like a champ in NO, then got here and has been the most underwhelming player in the past 5 years, unless of course you count McFlabb. The guy is a pain in the franchises neck (or knee), since he is an expensive IR addition all the time, and we have to expose our franchise QB to journeyman backup tackles that get beat on a consistent basis. But even when he did play, he was VERY mediocre, almost bad.
NC_Skins 11-27-2012, 07:54 PM I can respect your argument.
No, not really. Did mention a couple of weeks back that they gave Compton a nice raise after a few teams sought him out. I suspect he'll get a December call up and will be in the plans for 2013. Think Maurice Hurt might be in the mix too.
I take it LiRebus isn't doing much of anything at this point.
Mechanix544 11-27-2012, 07:55 PM He's not some bum who just wants to sit back and collect a pay check. He'd rather be healthy and playing. The constant set backs have to be frustrating.
obviously you know or have had some sort of interaction with the guy, or have been told that he is a cool guy, and really nice. For that reason, id love it if he were healthy and playing at his NO level. But he is always injured, might as well use the money on a young lineman who can stay healthy, build a rapport with his other lineman and RG3, and grow with the team. JB to me was a complete trade bust, and I wish we had that pick back, but so it goes......
REDSKINS4ever 11-27-2012, 07:58 PM I take it LiRebus isn't doing much of anything at this point.
LiRibeus is riding the bench and keeping it warm. Maybe the Forestor and Shanahan are keeping an eye on in practice and seeing him develop but feel he's not ready to contribute yet on offense.
Mechanix544 11-27-2012, 08:00 PM I would say 5th priority - behind 2 safeties and 2 cornerbacks :) Of course, its unlikely we'd see an entirely new secondary. it could be 2 of our 4 starting DBs are doing everything theyre supposed to, but the other 2 keep blowing assignments. Its hard to judge since we dont know what the assignments are.
Given Shanahan doesnt have the best track record drafting defensive talent, i'd feel alot better if we resolved most of our secondary concerns in free agency. Not sure what the market is going to be next year or our exact cap room, but good cornerbacks are expensive.
To tell you the truth, I think we could do a hell of alot better if we can just add ONE solid starting CB, and have JW start the other side, and DH play the nickelback. And then with the safeties, this will be the hardest position to fill. I say we keep Merriweather, and add a young buck in the second round to start for us. I swear I hope we can both Madoodoo and Doubty. I feel that we can find better options than them, younger as well, on the FA market or through some sort of trade, maybe even the middle rounds of the draft.
One thing is for sure, our scouting department had better be working overtime for this next draft, cause without at least a starter CB or safety, the defense will continue to bleed out, Orakpo or not.
NC_Skins 11-27-2012, 08:07 PM I don't get the hatred for Brown, but whatever
Would you rather us be hating on Shanny? Not only did he trade a valuable pick for a injured player, but he doubled down on that SAME frigging injured player by signing him to a contract in the previous off-season.
I feel bad for the skins
Exactly.
12thMan 11-27-2012, 08:20 PM If this unit finishes the season healthy, knock on wood, it's going to be hard for anybody to come into camp next season and crack the starting lineup; Tyler Polumbus included.
Coaches are very relunctant to tinker with success, even if there's a weak link. Polumbus hasn't been great, but he has held his own this season.
