2) the draft is about 2 things, a players value to your team, and their perceived value to other teams. So if a diamond in the rough type is available at round 3, you still may pass on him thinking that other teams don't see him the same way. So you gamble a bit on that one, and let him slide to the 4th/5th/6th hoping to use trades and slides in order to get him at the lowest draft point possible, but higher than when you miss him.

right...where you draft a player is relative to how you have evaluated his value to OTHER teams.

Can somebody help me out here? I'm totally lost

I guess he is saying scouts/fans/people dont pay attention to small college programs who posses just a talented players as large college programs. Players at larger programs are better because they went to bigger program or something. Which I dont agree

This is exactly what I was trying to say. Some players go undrafted. Some are drafted high and some are drafted very late. As long as they have the ability to play is all that matters. But I would like to see Compton, Gettis, and LeRibeus get some game experience during some point if it's possible. But when Gettis, Compton, or LeRibeus hasn't played, it makes me think that the coaches feel like they are incapable or simply not ready to contribute yet. Hell, Joe Jacoby was undrafted and was arguably the best RT in Redskins history.

I think some are missing the point of the thread. No one's saying our offensive line has been dominant or couldn't use an additional piece here and there. But given the uneven play of our defense throughout the season, WRs in and out of the line-up, a key injury at TE, the offensive line has performed admirably considering two rookies have lined up behind them all season. That's all I was pointing out with the thread title.

We talk about depth around here like there should be Pro-Bowlers standing on the sidelines or on someone's practice squad ready to rock and roll. Not how it works. Be grateful. The unit has gelled and are obviously playing with a lot of confidence right now.

All I'm saying is that priorities should first be centered around RGIII first. He is the redskins. If there was a safe way to put him on defense and special teams - I have no doubt that the redskins would be the best team in the nfl- right now.

And what I think everyone else is saying is: Sure, but the best way to protect him is to build a complete team.

If we are constantly in passing situations b/c our defense is giving up big plays and we need to score quick, Griffin is going to be exposed more often. How about a D that gets the other team off the field, lets Griffin hand the ball to Morris and take the occasional deep strike. Sounds to me like a good plan to keeping him from taking hits.

It's the complete team that matters.

How dare you take what we are all saying and explain it better than us. What are you a lawyer or something?
