Chico23231 01-14-2013, 12:42 PM 2 touchdowns. one interception. 181 russing yards. 263 passing yards. 444 total yards. That's 100 more than RGIII has had. I'm not dissing RGIII so much as i'm praising Kaepernick. most running backs go their entire careers without a 180 yard rushing game. It was a historic performance.
San Francisco has the best Oline in the NFL and Green Bay has a terrible defense...I think that helps alot.
Healthy RG3 puts those numbers up all day against Green Bay.
Kaepernick is great, RG3 is the better passer.
The Goat 01-14-2013, 02:30 PM Debating RG vs Kaepernick/Wilson outside the context of value is absurd. Even giving RG the slight nod statistically, the fact Harbaugh and PC got their "RGs" in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, without mortgaging their franchise' futures on a single player who is then literally ran into the ground over a single season, makes those players (and more importantly those two coaches) far superior to what we have.

when it's all said and done, if griff has more rings than kaepernick and wilson, are they still the better value?

Of course not. You've got the cart way out in front of the horse though, right?

Calling Kapernick and Wilson better than RG3 is just flat out ridiculous. Give RG3 those offensive lines and those defenses, good luck even making a comparison. Give either of them our O-line and they would probably be considered prospects at best.
They are both on better teams, but neither is remotely better.

and if you gave Tom Brady RGIIIs legs and put him behind San Francisco's line and had him playing against a Canadian high school team, he'd put have 1,000 yards of total offense.
RGIII is not healthy, may never be fully healthy for an entire season, and (hopefully) will never play behind the 49ers offensive line. Its fun to imagine what different players would do with different health/teams/circumstances, but its all just speculation. My only real point was that Kaepernick had a phenominal game and has been a healthy quarterback. RGIII has the potential to be one of the greatest players to ever play the game, but style of play, fearlessness with his body, and injury history may prevent him from reaching that potential.

Did you feel that fly right over your head?
There's no point comparing the three QBs straight across. It's a team sport. To build a serious contender in the NFL you need to find value every year in the draft and FA. Those franchises have done it. We have not. Period.
Let's see at the end of their careers who brought the most "value", as in hardware, to their respective teams.

That will be interesting. Right now, Manning, Brady, and Rodgers are the three that always seem to be compared, even though they started many years apart.
When the season started, all the talk was about how Luck and RG3 would be compared throughout their careers (and rightly so, due to being taken 1-2 in the draft), but in 10 years, the debate could be between all 4 guys - Luck, RG3, Wilson, and Kaepernick.
We really seem to be living in a golden age of quarterbacks. Both Mannings, Brady, Brees, and Rodgers are all 1st ballot hall of famers. Thats five guys. Then we've got 4 new quarterbacks who are all really good. Then you've got the other very good, but not elite, guys like Flacco, Ryan, Rothlisberger, Rivers, Romo. And finally, there's the good young quarterbacks that show promise, like Newton, Stafford, Bradford, and Dalton.
I cant remember a time when there have been this many GOOD quarterbacks in the league at the same time. One thing is for sure - i see no incentive in using a pick in the first 5 rounds of the 2013 fantasy draft on a quarterback.
