SkinsRock 03-07-2005, 02:28 PM Like anybody expected King to praise the Skins??? Yeah right...
We'll see what happens on the field, then make judgement. Maybe Gibbs is using the Patriots as a model, with no true #1 receiver. Not a bad team to imitate...
Hey, at least we aren't "winning" the offseason for a change!
JoeRedskin 03-07-2005, 02:30 PM No matter what off-season moves we make - whether we let someone go, bring someone in, low-ball, over-pay, or do nothing - all of it will be questioned and dumped on by the talking heads UNTIL we win games. Few complimented us on the signing of Washington or Griffin or, after the season, stated what good pick-ups they were.
As Curmudgeon has pointed out, Snyder & Co. have screwed up more than a few times (effectively bidding against themselves for Samuels comes to mind). Unless and until the Skins put more games in the win column on a regular basis, expect us to be the talking heads whipping boy. And while I disagree with King, if he is shown to be wrong, he has, in the past, been man enough to admit it.
Let's not get started on Dr. Z....

True, I think most of us recall the firestorm that King's comments about Sean Taylor being unhappy that he was on the Redskins caused here at the Warpath last summer...only to have him retract his statement the following week
terps and skins 03-07-2005, 02:42 PM i dont know what happend with Dr.Z, but i wont even ask....lol
I'd be interested in seeing what his opinion is on teams like the Raiders and Titans, two teams who are biting the bullet big-time cap-wise this offseason.
Are the Skins the only team that takes cap hits? Are the Skins the only team that restructures contracts?
I'm not saying his opinion isn't valid, he's just choosing to spin things in a negative way, which isn't much of a surprise I guess.
Same old ho-hum let's bash the Skins no matter what they do.
Big C 03-07-2005, 02:50 PM yeah.. patten was the 4th reciever...thats bullshit, he started 11 games, he wasnt behind troy brown and hasnt been in 2 years. he ended up being #2 last season on a super bowl winning team. what a dumbass. perrineal disspointment moss? guess a 1100 yard year is a dissapointment, and man its so dissapointing when u only get 850 yards one year after that when ur QB got hurt. yeah...

I was just reading the rest of the article, of course he loves Pierce going to the Giants, but if we matched that deal I'd bet he would blast us for overpaying for a guy who had one good year.
If Patten was the #4 WR he was one of the most productive #4's in NFL history, LOL
800 yards and 7 scores, damn I'll take that from my #4 anyday!
Redskins_P 03-07-2005, 02:59 PM He also said that he likes Trent Dilfer as a backup and Holcomb as a starter.
Umm....didn't Trent Dilfer win a Super Bowl? What has Holcomb done?

Nothing in particular, he's just an even more rabid anti-Skin than King (which is saying something). If we won 4 Superbowl's in a row and consistently had $10M in cap space, Z would simply say that competition in the league has been at a low point, we weren't really a dynasty b/c no good teams are around and, obviously, we are just running things on the cheap and getting lucky.
