Unfortunately, upon closer examination of the terms of the contract, I have come to believe the deal might actually help Smoot get a bigger deal. Rolle will get $12 million his first year with the team, plus will get a $11 million signing bonus. Essentially, Rolle will get in excess $20 million in guaranteed money - unless the Ravens cut him before September (which, is extremely unlikely).
