I think the Redskins win 31 - 27. I think the Eagles are leading at halftime but than depth and talent start to show up and the Redskins score a couple of late touchdowns to win the game.

CRedskinsRule 09-06-2013, 08:13 AM How many people saw D Thomas break off that TD run and immediately thought of Garcon running free after a bubble screen from Griffin. CRedskinsRule 09-06-2013, 08:28 AM So really only one quarterback came back full strength right away, which was Phillip Rivers. I am sure it will take some time for RG3 to feel completely comfortable with is knee. Also Carson Palmer came back quicker than RG3, which I thought was very interesting. It's a small sample size, and it may be that I am more aware of Griffin's recovery than the others, but I tend to think that these show more the minimum we can expect rather than the ceiling that Griffin is capable of. MTK 09-06-2013, 08:31 AM Griffin is just a different kind of guy. All this talk of him possibly being rusty or not up to speed is BS to me. I expect him to come out and look like the same guy before the injury last year. Like he never got hurt at all. He barely played in the preseason last year and it didn't hurt him any. He's been practicing full speed for weeks now. He's going to be good to go. Green Monk Machine 09-06-2013, 08:53 AM Can the Chip Kelly's offense really run and function as quick as Denver's? Cris collinsworth said the play can't even come thru over the headset to the QB until the play is whistled ready to play by the ref. I can understand a 2min drill but few teams can run a manning up tempo game and I don't see Vick doing it in hostile FedEx making the appropriate blitz pickups with our pass rush, and being effective. Nah I'm not buying it anymore. sandtrapjack 09-06-2013, 09:01 AM Can the Chip Kelly's offense really run and function as quick as Denver's? If they have the matchups on the field that they want, it is possible. donofriose 09-06-2013, 09:16 AM Griffin is just a different kind of guy. I think he will be up to speed and be completely healthy physically, but I would be shocked if he came back completely the same right away in all the aspects of football. Two of the best quarterbacks/competitors ever in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning needed time to feel completely comfortable after their respected surgeries. Even RG3 struggled some the first time he came back from a knee surgery at Baylor after he won Big 12 freshmen of the year and everyone that watched college football thought there was something special about him. I'm not saying its impossible that RG3 comes back especially since he has gone through a similar situation before, but I am not expecting it and would still be pleasantly surprised by it. Green Monk Machine 09-06-2013, 09:16 AM No rule against the O-coordinator calling 2 plays once the headset is activated. If they have the matchups on the field that they want, it is possible. That is true. Perhaps the fans just make it too difficult to hear. warriorzpath 09-06-2013, 09:25 AM Forget defensive fatigue, defensive looks, and all of that. It all hinges on how the redskins front seven play. The key players will be Cofield, Orakpo, and Kerrigan. Cofield will need to consistently collapse the pocket. Orakpo will need to have a lot of discipline to contain Vick and McCoy and be able to make some tackles against the run. Kerrigan will need to make the plays we know he can make in the running and passing game. It will all be about spacing and not giving the eagles any. Monkeydad 09-06-2013, 09:41 AM Interesting article summarizing the last 5 qb's to suffer ACL type injuries and their subsequent return the next season. RG3 vs. Eagles: How do QBs fare in first game back from torn ACL? | NJ.com (http://www.nj.com/eagles/index.ssf/2013/08/what_to_expect_from_rg3_in_season_opener_vs_eagles .html) One caveat, aside from Brady, none of those QBs ever had anywhere near the talent, natural athleticism, work ethic, intelligence or overall game that Griffin does. |
