Flynn is a great example because he had one helluva game and cashed it into a monster paycheck.
Packers need to go ahead and sign Flynn as the official back up to Rodgers. Obviously the system and coaches make it a good fit for both.

I have not been completely impressed with Orakpo, but we all need to keep in mind that the one year he was with Haynesworth under Blache, he was elected to the Pro Bowl. If I remember right he had 10+ sacks.
The defense as a whole has been pretty terrible the last 4 years. I do believe the is alot of talent there.....
Rak has not been the elite player that we hoped to get.
That said, he certainly is "good enough" and guys like him don't grow on trees. So I hope that we lock him up with a reasonable (not huge) contract.
No he's not elite (not many guys are) but he's been good and at times very good. LBs that can get you 10+ sacks don't grow on trees as you say.

Rak has been a very good player for us. Outside of the injuries. For the 13th(?) pick in the draft we got pretty good return. I'd take a player of Rak's relative capabilities everywhere on the team.

I think here's the thing to remember. Other teams are probably going to offer Brian Orakpo a comparable contract to one the 'skins will offer him. I don't know if you're going to find a team that's willing to offer him an elite contract. And if so, more power to Brian. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic (or maybe in the case of Rak, pessimistic) but I think it will come down to simply Rak wanting to stay a Redskin or wanting a change in scenery. I don't think he's done enough to command a huge contract, but I could be wrong.
With that said, I do hope he's retained, because both him and Kerrigan are solid guys to build a defense around.

Teams do stupid shit. Cleveland offered Paul Kruger a stupid contract.

Shanahan has a long history of making the wrong decision with the cornerstone defensive player, so the key issue is getting the right guy in here who will make the best decision for the longterm health of the franchise.

Hopefully the days of the skins giving out overpaid contracts are behind them.

Who would have thought Atlanta, Washington, and Houston would be scraping the bottom of the NFL barrel this year?I had Houston playing for the Super Bowl and Washington winning the division before the season. I thought Atlanta was a last place team, although I thought more like 6 or 7 win last place than 4 or 5.

Cousins performance was similar to the performance of RG3 vs Minnesota. Amazing first half and then the second half happened. Except cousins threw picks.
It's not a coincidence that Washingtons offense played well against two of the worst defenses in the NFL.
I think a good game to judge cousins will be the giants game. Sadly enough they are the best D cousins will face.
