So he had a press conference to say he's 99% sure he would retire? I get the feeling this was partly done to take the heat off everything else that is going on right now

Yes, Fletcher is a Hall of Fame-worthy player. He went undrafted and is undersized, but he has had a great career. His character and consistency are second to none.

Great player. He did some amazing things here in DC. I like that he's retiring before he becomes a huge liability just to keep his consecutive game streak alive.

I think we'll really need to evaluate our defensive scheme with him leaving. I honestly don't know where we're going to find decent LBs for the 3-4 to be effective here in DC. I like the idea of moving Orakpo to DE. Running Kerrigan, Riley, and Rob Jackson at LB.
