That's interesting. I guess Baker DE-Coefeld NT-Bowen DE?
Jenkins is the rotation guy? Id have to believe Carriker is a cut. Wonder if we will keep Bowen?
Bowen had microfracture surgery if he's ready in November it'll be within the recovery timeframe. He definitely won't be ready for training camp.
Bowen, due to his hefty contract may be cut or asked to take a pay cut. Look for Jenkins to be in the mix for left end starter.
Baker may take the nose and Cofield may go to right end?

Coefield at nose, baker mos def is end. Only way u move coefield to end is if with we get a monster hog in the middle which would be fine with me
I know in the alignment those ends need to play contain, but too often we weren't let'm go aggressive upfield. Sometime u gotta let them eat, hope haslet lets them loose a lil more

I like the signing, I think he should be in the top 3 DE rotation next year. 1 of Bowen or Carriker needs to be cut now though so we give Baker a chance and save a little money. Don't wanna really say it cause I respect both those guys.
Jenkins, Baker, Carriker (if he can play)/Bowen. I think that is pretty solid. Golston will be the 4th guy.

Cofields gonna get the starting nod though isnt he? Barrys not a DE.. not enough speed for the edge but all the power up front perfect gap guy. This is a depth resigning. Why let him go type of thing nothing to break headlines with.
$12M tells me it's more than a depth move. He's being viewed as a starter.

According to Keim, the contract is actually 3 years at 9 mil. But each year has 1 mil in incentives that he can also earn if he hits those incentives. Keim is listing his cap hit as 2 mil first year, 3 mil second year, and 4 mil third year with the chance of an extra 1 mil per year in bonuses.
"DL Chris Baker
Signed a three-year, $12-million deal with $4 million guaranteed. That sounds like starter-type money (albeit not a high level one), but it’s certainly not guaranteed starter money. He has $1 million in incentives that are not likely to be earned -- based on play time, sack totals and Pro Bowl appearances -- each of the three years and his cap number is only $2 million this year and tops out at $4 million in the final year of the contract. The deal averages $3 million per season. It allows the Redskins to keep a young, improving lineman who can help them at multiple spots: end, nose tackle and nickel rusher. Even if he doesn’t start he will play a lot."

There are incentives that he probably won't reach so the deal is basically 3yrs 9million as per Keim.
Can't post link typing of my phone it's smart not me LOL.

Yeah I saw that... my basic point is based on how he finished last year he's going to get a shot to start and he's more than just a depth guy like someone like Golston has been. It's a good deal for both sides.

Baker just seems to keep getting better since he's been here. I say he breaks out this year and makes the Pro Bowl.
