Jay Gruden had some ominous words to say that Chris Thompson and Phillip Thomas need to get back on the field so the coaching staff can see what they can do.
Gruden had better not cut PT before he can show what he can do. We're weak at safety and I suspect that PT can help us there.
As for CT, I think we have other backs who can do what he does when healthy (which, unfortunately for him, is seldom).

I think your right, throw another question in to help answer your question, who is your punt returner?
Yeah, current punt returner depth chart is;
1) Santana Moss
2) DeSean Jackson
3) Andre Roberts
4) Richard Crawford
I do not see DeSean Jackson being our everyday punt returner unless it is playoff time.
Did Santana Moss even return a punt in last game? Did he even play?
Roberts looked shaky.
Crawford is still trying to get his legs back after injury. Not there yet.
Ideally if Crawford regains his old form, it would make the decision easier.

IMO, Id like to see Roberts punt return and kick off return. Id like to see Robinson make the team over Santana, but the thinking is Moss is he is slot backup. Could Robinson or Grant become the slot back up? I dont see why not, but the coaching staff seem to like both on the outside.
I really think Hank should go, he cant stay on the field. I would chose Robinson over Hank

I agree.
A lot can happen in 3 preseason games and ton of practices left until game #1.
Should be interesting.

I still don't trust Aldrick Robinson. Yes, he looked good the other night and apparently has picked things up in practice.
But practice reports from just a couple of weeks ago still described him as the alligator-arms, one-trick pony he has always been.
In the past couple of years we might have beaten the Rams and the Lions had Robinson just held onto the friggin ball. I don't wish to see that again.

I think the only way Robinson is in any kind of trouble at all is if Hankerson is healthy and balling before final cuts, which is doubtful. Pretty much every projection I've seen by our insiders has the team carrying 6 receivers, and the only other guy besides Hank who could challenge Robinson is maybe Rashad Ross, as a kick returner? Really can't see that happening. I think Robinson ultimately makes the team and finally gives us more good(killer speed) than bad(route limitations and inconsistent hands). At least I hope so.

i wouldnt be surprised if we cut a vet or two (bowen etc) and add a vet FS who just got cut from another team
i dont think we go into week 1 with both rambo and thomas as backups.

I'd like to add another veteran safety but I don't want to see Phillip Thomas cut. I really want to see if PT can become a good NFL safety.
PT needs some more PT in the training room so he can get some PT on the field.

I agree, the Redskins are second in line to pick up some decent vets that get cut. The key could be salary cap space.

I'm not sure about this but wouldn't the team that cuts them be responsible for paying them any guaranteed money? I think the Skins would be able to pay them vet minimum which would be no problem as far as the cap is concerned. But, as I said, I'm not sure about that.
