If Campbell were the player that some of us seems to think he is, wouldn't he be highly coveted by any team needing a QB?

...Jeez, this has really gotten out of hand.

TMC. Hey I was about to raise the question if Doug Williams would allow Campbell to wear #17. :oink:

In reference to Gibbs' visit to Auburn, it's possible he was visiting Rogers.

You know what I would like to see? Ramsey having a season where 1) defenders 2) Brunell or 3) a rookie quarterback are not breathing down his neck and see how he reacts.
malcom connection

this is the nfl everyone has a qb who hs not proven himself will face competition.

SC:
While I agree with most of your intial post the reponse about Cooley is puzzling. He doesn't play TE first off so we can throw away your pre-conceived notions there since they don't apply.
So based on what a HB is supposed to do I can aggree with you on his blocking. I don't remember him being much of a force at all. But as for his route running and receiving abilities he was clearly a productive receiver. On many of his receptions, including most of his TDs, he was the first option. I think that says something right there. The coaches considered him a matchup problem for opposing teams often. Secondly, as to his "worker" capabilities, I think it would be safe to say there very rarely was there much of a chance for a first option to "work" his way open last year. I think in general on most of the plays the first option either got the ball or the play was dead. As for his contribution on first down you have to go back to his blocking. He didn't play as much on 1st down as one would hope since 1st down was a running down for the Skins. I think he definitly needs work on his blocking and everyone can always improve in all facets of their game but I think you are giving him much less credit than he deserves.

well as long as we get a good CB then the other pick i can live with. i think we are gonna trade down to the second round with number 25 maybe package gardner and 25 for a 3rd and 2nd round pick.

That's an interesting thought...

These people are only human. I don't know how I WOULD react if I was granted the starting nod only to be replaced by Brunell (which we all knew was coming anyway) in camp. These people aren't made of stone psychologically and it can't be good for the confidence of Ramsey to basically have a figurative "one last shot" to get it done this year.Yes I would have to agree that we all knew it was coming, but Ramsey did nothing in preseason last year to show he deserved the starting job. After preseason last year it was like pick who did not play the worst and not who played the best. Ramsey is getting somewhat of a second chance to prove he can play in the NFL and if he does not show improvement this year we have no choice but to look in another direction for a QB.
