Total offense last year: Rank-30th
Total Defense last year: Rank-2nd

I guess it makes sense that we passed on Mike Williams.

What the #%! are we doing!!!!

I don't like the pick for a lot of reasons. First of all, Gibbs said that they wanted to get some guys to help out Patrick Ramsey at his little rally at FedEx before going to the war room about 10 minutes before the draft. I think he was the 2nd best CB in the draft, probably the most consistent, but I didn't think we needed a CB. I thought Harris could have stepped up, give Wilds a shot. See what happens. I don't like the pick. I think we should have gone Merriman. We get no rush from our front 4 and I think he would have been the better choice. Finally, how, if you wanted to surround Ramsey with weapons, how do you pass on Mike Williams. It doesn't make sense.

They should take Matt Jones at 25
A better defense IS a weapon that helps Ramsey. I thought Harris would be good for this year too, but both he and Springs are not getting any younger....a couple years from now Rogers and Wilds could be a VERY formidable CB duo, not to mention a more seasoned Taylor back there with them.

I agree the corners are kinda old, however, I think we could have gotten one at a later time. I didn't think that he was a guy that was too good to pass up. I just didn't think it was a necessary pick.

this team never seems to disappoint me and the other fans. we sign the wrong guys and draft the wrong guys....way too go. one question for everyone? what is worse? getting screwed by the refs bad calls all year? or getting screwed by this lame ass franchise? i know...it's a tough one. have to go now and take a shower from being shit on again....thanks skins!!!

theres a reason mike williams fell so far. he's not as good as some people think. he's a bigger rod gardner.

only he doesn't drop passes, so he's not.

gardner didn't dropp passes in the college ranks either , it's the nfl that got him.

Love the first Auburn pick! Need position.

Hate the second Auburn pick. Had much larger needs than QB.

Roddy White at WR would have been a better pick.

Or a DE would have been a bigger need than QB.

Guess we can get out and play in the rain now....or wait to see if we can trade Gardner for a 6th round pick....

Pacman was the best CB and he was taken, Rolle the second best........Rogers 3rd.........with Smoot gone, I'm surprised we didn't go DE but could be Coach Williams felt they were'nt that good to be selected at #9, so I'm kinda happy with Rogers :shrug:I kept hearing more and more negatives about WR Williams.....

Here's what one Draft Preview book said about Rogers:
VERY GOOD ATHLETIC ABILITY, Good closing speed and can make up for lost ground when he gets out of position . Pretty good route recognition. Best when the ball is in front of him in zone coverage. Physical in press coverage and will come up hard to support the run. physical tackler. will play hurt. NEGATIVES-inconsistent, confidence a question, not a great tackler. shows stiffness in hips and takes too many false steps on his plant and drive. doesnt get out of his breaks clearly. does not have great ball skills. needs to improve in man coverage. not a shutdown corner.......

that 3rd ranked defense sure made his job easier and helped him succeed this past year didn't it? ;) The defense would have been just fine with the guys we had and the defensive gameplans of Williams and company, whereas we had a chance to get a guy in Mike Williams who could have played a pivotal role in our lackluster to say the least offense. And while I think I'll like the Cambell selection in a couple years, right now we had other positions we could have strengthened, but I'm not pissed about that as much as I am the snafu at the #9 spot. I like Rodgers and think he'll easily fill and excede the shoes of Smoot, but between the 2 sides of the ball, our offense had a much bigger problem that needed fixing.

oh well you can only say i wished we had done that, or question the moves. im sure the fo has some sort of gameplan that jason campbell fit into. they are probably looking towards the future. maybe campbell will be the backup this season, then if ramsey has a crappy season we trade him.
