Sean Taylor - What if...Daseal 05-19-2005, 01:12 PM Exactly. Only thing that will gain him that step is gametime experience. Phinehas 05-19-2005, 01:21 PM SC, it was his rookie season, Taylor will be a year wiser and no slower athletically. But that's just it. The year doesn't seem to have made Taylor a wit wiser, and missing the OTA's isn't helping. Parents who love their children discipline them so that they become wise, mature adults. Otherwise, their children grow up to be spoiled brats. A coach that ignores Taylor's misbehaving and lack of respect is doing no favors for either Taylor or the team. If anything has a chance to drive some of the selfishness and immaturity out of Taylor, it is discipline. Fawning over his on-the-field exploits while ignoring his lack of character will only ever create a bigger spoiled brat. I don't know what form the discipline should take in this instance, but I'm with SC in that Gibbs needs to get up in Sean Taylor's face and press him for a respectful answer as to why Taylor didn't return any of the phone calls. Depending on that answer, I would think some sort of discipline might not only be in order, but downright beneficial to Taylor and to the team. I wouldn't rule out a temporary benching as a possible form for that discipline. --Phin PSUSkinsFan21 05-19-2005, 01:57 PM But that's just it. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 05-19-2005, 11:30 PM Schneed and PSU, Thanks for the clarifications. I was only kidding about the "benching"....sort of, kind of. LOL. I too enjoy good debates (as many on this site know) and I've dropped F-bombs before, I just wanted to step in before it got too hot. Feel free to call me out anytime you think I'm starting to go "personal." Sometimes miscommunications during debates lead to a slightly "hotter" debating climate than is necessary - again, I know from firsthand experience. Thanks though guys. Let the debating continue! :food-smil PSUSkinsFan21 05-20-2005, 08:33 AM Sometimes miscommunications during debates lead to a slightly "hotter" debating climate than is necessary - again, I know from firsthand experience. Thanks though guys. Let the debating continue! :food-smil No problem RF. No doubt, the hardest thing to get across in posts is a person's tone. So many times it's not what you say, but how you say it........and you can't get the "how you say it" in the typewritten word. That's why you Mods are so important....you make us take a minute to consider that maybe the person isn't saying it the way you think they are. So thank you. Now, back to hunting for a topic that I can get into an argument over! :FIREdevil :laughing- TheMalcolmConnection 05-20-2005, 08:36 AM You're a bastard. How's that for a topic. :) Let the argument begin!! :joke: PSUSkinsFan21 05-20-2005, 11:23 AM You're a bastard. Do I agree that he isn't with the rest of the team working out hard? NO. No way... Does everyone here put their faith in Gregg Williams? Doesn't everyone know he knows what the hell he is doing. I don't have an exact quote but Wiliams has stated that he LOVES this guy. That he is the most talented player he has ever coached and he like the way he plays and his aggressiveness and how he leaves it all on the field. Having said that (not exactly but you know what i mean) Williams has coached a lot of guys in the NFL and that is a pretty hefty statement about Sean Taylor. And Williams isn't someone to just blow smoke to make someone feel all fuzzy. As for the others saying that we were good without Lavar and the rest of the D that was injured, doesn't mean that we wanted to be without those players. It doesn't mean that it was the best case scenerio for our team. You have to play your studs and S.T. is a STUD. Remember he was only a rookie and I saw Champ get burned more times than Taylor last year. PUT HIM OUT THERE AND WIN GAMES |
