Sean"Big Hurt"Taylor 05-29-2005, 11:39 PM you forgot the chiefs. but hey i think we are by far a better team than the cowboys. i just can't wait til the season start i have a feeling that we are to have a season like the chargers did last year. if we can stay injury free from our core guys we are going to make some noise.
skinsguy 05-30-2005, 12:10 AM I will be surprised if the Cowboys aren't at least 8-8 this coming season.
Or, maybe we can face them in the NFC championship game and beat them like we did our first Super Bowl win year!
Gmanc711 05-30-2005, 12:15 AM I dont think this coming season is one to fear the cowboys. I think give them anohter year or two, and I think they will be a force to be reckoned with. Alot depends on Bledsoe or Henson, whoever is the starter by the years end. I think their defense is going to be very good by midseason of this year; but I think they will struggle early. So this year; I dont think they are a team to fear .Beyond this year, I think they will be very good.
mooby 05-30-2005, 01:08 AM seriously, i think the cowboys will be good this year, like ramseyfan said, maybe 9-7, but i don't consider them a team that will earn home field advantage during the playoffs. they have a lot to prove, and i think we have the advantage because bledsoe is their starting quarterback, and gregg williams knows a lot about the way he plays from his days in buffalo.
wolfeskins 05-30-2005, 01:57 AM bledsoe is definately not the qb he once was. he has lost most of his game.
saden1 05-30-2005, 04:50 AM The Cowboys whole season will hinge on Bledsoe. Can he play well enough and give the Cowboys a legit passing attack? The past two seasons he's been pretty average, but with Julius Jones an average passing game may be all they need to win 9 or 10 games.
Bledsoe has played with very good RBs and WRs in Buffalo. His achilles heel has been lack of pass protection and his inability to get rid of the ball or affinity for getting sacked if you will. The Cowboys are not really as talented as the Bills in terms of core players and I'm not really sure if the boys O-line will be any good this year. If I was a betting man I'd say Mr. Bledsoe is officially in the same category as Vinny Testaverde and Kurt Warner. Simply put, FLAT!
I do think the boys will muster at least 9 wins. Let's just hope non of them are curtsy of the Redskins. Lord knows we have been very generous to them.
Schneed10 05-30-2005, 11:16 AM You guys realize that Julius Jones started 7 games after coming back from injury and rushed for 803 yards in those games? That's on pace for a 1840 yard season. The guy is going to be flat out amazing in this league, the next Curtis Martin, and if the Cowboys had him healthy all season long last year they would have been at least 8-8. Add in the defense and improvement at QB, you have to like their chances to get to the playoffs.
And come on guys, as much as we hate him, we all know Parcells knows what he's doing.
skinsguy 05-30-2005, 11:23 AM The motto for the Cowboys is to win right now, because I honestly don't see Parcells coaching another two or three seasons. So, it does hinge on Bledsoe's play this year - I think Bill Parcells would like to go out on a high note, but I don't believe he has the paitence to build this team for another two or three years.

That's the same assessment I have of Bledsoe. Let's not forget, that Bledsoe nearly took the Bills to the playoffs last year after having a miserable start.
As to Parcells and the Cowboys O-line, Parcells has said that he is going to offer Bledsoe max-protection and that is one of his top priorities for the year. Parcells is no dummy and realizes that Bledsoe has no feet - he's going to make sure Bledsoe has good protection. That's one of the main reasons they picked up Rivera, who did a fantastic job protecting Favre.

I know. And I hate to admit it, but as much as I like to make excuses as to why they will suck, Jones will be a Pro Bowler. His talent alone will give their passing game life.
I am concerned about that.
