Clayton probably needed to sign an agreement to not comment in order to receive a buyout. He's top-notch IMO and I also think he'll have a good job soon.
Good point, it's an angle I didn't think about. I think he'll end up at Fox Sports but I wish he wouldn't, their site is terrible and I hate reading articles on it. And I prefer articles any day of the week over dumb insider videos that won't load because their crappy custom built player doesn't work.

The writing has been on the wall for a couple of years now at ESPN. They are in trouble financially and the only thing still keeping them afloat is probably Monday Night Football.
People like Colin Cowherd and Skip Bayless and a couple others saw the writing and got out last year when their contracts were up for renewal and ESPN seriously low-balled them. So they walked on their own terms.
ESPN then went on to lay off a lot of the 'behind the scenes' people in 2016. Now those affects are being felt by those we have seen in front of the camera in 2017.
ESPN is circling the drain folks.
Excellent post. A lot of people i feel don't know the trouble that ESPN is truly in. They have become the present-day MTV. I give them a few more years at best before they are OB

Yeah ESPN is fucked, SS will probably argue that but the ratings don't lie.. Their clame to fame right now is First Take and that show is literally the same thing every day..

Chiefs release Maclin. Worth a look? Too expensive or no need?

I would let the young studs we got give it a go in camp first before even looking. I mean our starting 3 is pretty much set as is and Maurice Harris, and some of the rooks give us some depth. I would see what we have first, and keep as much $ as possible as we will need it to keep Kirk.

Zero need. We are good at receiver imo.

Combination of both. When Norman came available we lacked a starting caliber CB and cap space was abundant. Signing Maclin would putDoctson down at #4 on the depth chart. Diminishing returns.

I think Maclin will be too expensive. There should be plenty of interest in his services and other teams have more cap space than we do.
Would he make us better? Probably.
Is there a need? I don't know. If Doctson is able to get on the field and stay there, probably not.

yeah . . . they spread them selves out way to thin . . . they need to get rid of all the other BS channels and put their focus and to focus their talent on ESPN . . . ged rid epsn2, espn3, epsnu, etc. etc. etc. . . . they used to be great and i watched them everyday . . . no unless there is a game on one of their channels i don't watch them at all
