I'm going to take this as a good sign that our youth looks very promising at CB.

I thought it would only be a matter of time before Moreau pushed Scandrick out of the lineup, good news that it's happened so quickly

There was really no need to sign that Cowboy reject.

This is great news! DB squad is deep as F. Really loved what we saw from Stroman and Johnson last week.

Just saved some useful cap space to help extend guys like Scherff and Preston Smith, didn't they ? (according to OTC, 2M in 2018, 3.7M in 2019).

With the success they've had in coaching up young DBs, releasing Scandric is really a great sign. I have heard a lot of hype about Danny Johnson and Stroman, and with Alexander as a hopefully up and coming prospect, maybe we finally have a DB group that can grow talent organically.

After years and years of retreads with sub par talent, to finally have a young secondary with potential is refreshing. It's been a long while.

I still have concerns about our Safety Depth, but to me, this Defense has significantly more promise than it did 2 years ago.

Also, the signing of Scandric over DRC makes a lot more sense in retrospect if their plan all along was to have a team friendly deal that they could back out of easily if they saw what they needed to from Dubar and Moreau and were able to find some talented rookies that they saw future potential in. If they didn't they'd have Scandrick, but they do so it's no big deal to let him go, DRC wanted a bigger (more long term perhaps? ) contract that wouldn't have allowed for this move.

Edit: that said, JP Finlay is suggesting it was a culture fit issue, and also that there is potential interest in DRC

Michael Phillips has really become a good source for info...under the tutelage of Woody.

Ive heard from several that Silverback vs Leonard Williams has been epic. Williams is gonna break out this year.

Go ahead and put Mo Harris on the roster...Keim posted a video of him just working a DB for a touchdown.

WHY THE FUCK IS DOCTSON NOT PARTICIPATING? this guy...

You have to look at it this way. It gives more reps to guys like Harris, who will just end up playing his way onto the field. That is how things work if you're not practicing and often injured. You give the other guy the opportunity and Harris seems to be making the most of it. I don't get caught up in draft pick status and the Redskins hopefully aren't either.

It's because We have one of the top CB's on the rise in Dunbar.

Fully agree. I've had Moreau on my radar as the guy I'd most expect, and most like, to take a major leap forward in year 2.

He has all the size and skillset of Kendall Fuller, he should be able to perform well in the slot corner spot - which I'd contend is a more important position in today's NFL than the second outside CB spot. Seeing the Redskins confident enough that they can roll without Scandrick is a great thing.

If we went into the season with Scandrick as one of our top 3 corners - I think I had said it before - it would be a disappointment. Here we are though, the youth is ready to roll. Moreau should be hungry, looking forward to seeing him play a big role.

Alexander has a box safety body...it wouldn't surprise me to see him move there if injuries came up especially with Danny Johnson and Stroman playing well.

Agree, We rarely get production from ex-Cowboys. Not sad one bit to see him gone.

And agree with everybody else's sentiment that this is a good thing for our young depth.
