yeah growing up in upstate NY even though there are plenty of rural areas seeing the confederate flag always felt wrong and frankly I always assumed it meant a racist lived there

I remember at like 10 or so visiting outer banks and seeing a cool in my 10 year old mind t shirt with a bunch of designs but on the back was a confederate flag in the design. My dad was like pick another.

Somehow I never correlated in my mind the confederate flag and the general lee; thinking back now it was disrespectful to put on the car.

I am curious as to how you justify rooting for the Redskins and have a Redskins icon next to your online handle.



Said before that I have changed my mind about it being racist, and have come to the realization that you cant be a little racist. But even if I didn’t I would have respect for those who do.

Why would I stop wearing Skins gear?



When I wear it now it’s a general fuck you, this is my team and fuck yours. And likewise it’s a salute to other Skins fans to say hey this is our team.



The new stuff will probably be awesome, but the old stuff to me will gain even more importance in terms of fandom. I respect that more imo.
