You know, no one is going to convince me that Vick isn't just average overall as a QB. When he learns how to complete passes and read defenses, let me know. That said, if I own a team I want him at QB. I'm talking from a money perspective. There is no guy that I can think of that would more successfully put butts in the seats than Vick. He's exciting to watch. Can't say I don't enjoy watching him run around confused and getting put on his ass by good defensive teams, though.
He DOES put butts in the seats, except the only problem with that is that the Skins have successfully put butts in the seats for how many years in a row in the biggest stadium in the NFL. It's sad that it took drafting Vick to get Atlanta fans to start jumping on the bandwagon. Not much loyalty there. I'm a HUGE Tech fan, but it should take more than a player to start filling seats. People have to stick with their team through the thick and thin.

I have a real problem with slapping the "overrated" tag on someone who missed the last year with injury. Of course his stats are going to be off - he barely had any.
If push comes to shove, I'd give that tag to Arrington on our team, but that's a tough sell in this league.
Why not Jeremiah "All-Pro" Trotter, who started half the season, can't play in coverage, and didn't lead the league in any categories for his position, but took home the honors.

Yup. I definitely agree there too. Talk about being a system player. He ONLY can stop the run.

I agree on Vick being extremely overrated. Just have him as your fantasy QB for one year (or part of it until you trade him away) and you'll see just how wonderful Michael Vick is. I don't know if anyone has ever been as hyped as Michael Vick, both coming into the league and throughout his first few mediocre years in the league.
I also have to give honorable mention to Warren Sapp though. This guy is proof that if you say something loudly over and over again, some people will start to believe that you know what you are talking about. Since he's come into the NFL he's consistently tried convincing everyone that he's the best DT in the game........and it actually seems to have worked for a number of sportscasters. Me personally, I've always thought his mouth worked harder than any other part of his body.
As for Lavar, I think its rediculous that anyone would put him at the top of the list as the most overrated player in the entire NFL after he was injured for essentially the entire year last year. But you know what, I hope Lavar sees this article and keeps it in the back of his mind throughout the entire season........only provides good fuel.
Maybe we should get a second opinion and ask Troy Aikman if Lavar is overrated? God I just can't wait for the hitting to start.......I need some football.

Thats something we can ALL agree on!
I made the mistake of taking Vick really early in one of my fantasy leagues last year as my starter. He can light things up one week and be a total dud the next. I'll definitely stay away from him this year unless I can grab him as a backup.

I'd love to have Peyton this year. You pretty much can't miss with him.

Surprised nobody brought up Champ Bailey. For as hyped as he is, he sure got burned a few times last year.

So Vick is over rated: 3 years playing, one year out hurt, one lossing season as QB and two trips to the play offs. That sounds pretty good to me.

Too bad Deion Sanders isn't still in the league. He was by far the most overrated player ever. However, I am going to go out on a limb and say that Randy Moss is the most overrated player in the game today. Although he has immense physical talent, he is a destructive force to his team with his "me-first " attitude. He will never help a team win a championship. I also think that Daunte Culpepper helped to make Moss look better than he truly is. We'll know for sure after this coming season. Honorable mentions go to Jeremy Shockey, Keyshawn Johnson, Terrell Owens (hey, the proved they could win WITHOUT him) and any other player who has signed on Drew Rosenhaus as their agent within the past year to demand a new contract when their old one has not been fulfilled.
