I know we could not afford him but he let 5mil go so I would think that he would be looking for more money. Their are several teams that have pleny of cap room for him. I would think that his agent has a feel for the market and thats why they they did not sign the 5mil deal with Philly. I could be wrong of course.

Actually reports here in Eagle-town are saying that he was planning on coming in and signing the tender this week to play for the $5 million. The Eagles heard that, and they pulled the offer off the table so they could have cap room to resign a few other players (maybe Brian Westbrook, John Runyan, Sheldon Brown?) to long term extensions.

Reid let him go because he felt he has good DTs already in Rayburn, Patterson, Grasmanis, and Hollis Thomas. If he brought Simon back he would have had to cut a pretty good DT just in the roster numbers game. But the move also gives them $15 million in cap room right now. Imagine that. They can give Brian Westbrook a $10 million bonus if they want, in the form of a roster bonus so the cap figure hits all this year. Then next year and beyond, Westbrook would count against the cap as if he were some rookie 5th rounder. I hate them so much, but they're the masters of smart cap management.

I just heard that Peerless Price is being released from the Falcons, do we have the cap room to sign him, or should we go after Peter Warrick or Corey Simon?

I think we're good on WRs right now.

Man, Peerless has really been a bust ever since he's been without Eric Moulds on the other side hasn't he?

i'd try to go after Koren Robinson, after his rehab he would be cheap (1 year big on encentives) and a change of scenary may do him well like shawn springs

Peerless is the perfect No. 2 receiver. As for Simon's payday, its too late in the game for a team to pony up a big deal without cutting a few of their players, I look for a 1 year deal as well. By the way, Im not saying we should sign either player, but if Warrick isn't signed soon, I think he's worth a shot, and we could cut our losses on Jacobs before he suffers another hangnail.

Koren Robinson?

The guy is a bust who can't stay away from the bottle.

No thanks.

Why are you so high on Warrick, a guy who's had more than his share of injury problems? He's had knee and leg problems the past couple of years.

He held out and gave the other players a chance to play and they knock him right out of a job and about 5 mil. LOL

I can definitely see us signing Peerless Price.. He's a HUGE upgrade from Thrash at the #3 receiver, that pushes Thrash to #4 where Dyson probably was and Dyson will be cut.. Price has a history with Gregg Williams from Buffalo where they wanted to keep him but couldn't afford him. He can play, he's just not a #1.. That WR rotation of Moss, Patten and Price all of the sudden is very potent... I hope the FO is going to jump all over that but I kind of doubt they will..

I don't want to see him end up in Philly because T.O. and Price is pretty lethal as well...
