Win Or Lose?

Always, always, always go with the win. And having a serious D is a big deal--they've even improved, as they said they would, in forcing TOs.

Still, I can't be pleased with a team that doesn't score even ONE touchdown. Come on. There are no excuses here. Neither Ramsey nor Brunnell gots us in there. That's on Gibbs and his offensive staff. And if that isn't fixed, we're in trouble.

As for TOs, they'll kill ya every time. I haven't looked yet, but my guess is this week, as in every week, the TO ratio pretty well tracks who won the game. Only as great O or D can overcome that.

And we had some very costly penalties--and weird ones at that. Offensive PI??? Illegal chop bock ON THE KICKING TEAM??? Please stop.

Should Antonio Brown be on the field? I am not sure he should. That was a potential game-losing TO at the start of the 2nd half. He can't catch and now he can't return. WTF?

I'll take the win every time--but we need work. As an old soccer coach of mine us to say (and CRT knows what I'm talking about here ;) )--Lose, analyze. Win, Criticize.

That's the way to get better. I know that this is what Gibbs does. So there's hope. And we're 1-0. And we didn't blow a home game to a (realtively) weak opponent. Given our tough early schedule, we needed this one.

I would bet Antonio is inactive for next weeks game and either Moss, Jacobs, or Thrash will take over the PR and KR duties.

Remember folks, we BEARly beat the Bears because we gave them the ball around our 20 yard line. That's tough for any defense.

Could have been easily 12-0!

Exactly, the BEARS were NEVER a real threat until we turned it over inside the 20. Other than that sequence, they did not threaten to score. This game really wasn't that close and you take away the turnovers and this becomes a dominant performance.

Anybody notice how Betts was in there on returns right away after the fumble by Brown?

I actually like Betts on returns, kinda give us that Brian Mitchell type of return man, a physical guy who slams it up in there and runs north and south rather than dancing around.

Brown better shape up, or he's going to be outta there pretty quick. Turning the ball over on special teams is a huge no-no in Gibbs' book.

I'd go with Betts and Thrash on kickoffs, and give the PR job to Thrash if Brown screws up again.

Brown is north south too and really fast, but that's his second return fumble since he's been here, and he never fair catches even with people in his face (well, he finally did today, in the baltimore game he refused to though).

I wish betts was faster, but he can break tackles.

Brown seems like a good guy, hard worker, and he had a good camp up until the 4th game, but that is it. He had a fumble last year that cost us a game, a fumble this year that could have very easily cost us the game, he is a liability on offense, and he is one dimensional has a runner, i.e. he is fast, thats it, he can't break tackles. ... how many chances will this guy get?

You're right; it's great to be 1-0.

The key for the Dallas game will be for Brunell (for better or worse, we're stuck with him for now) to repeat the performance he had against them on Monday Night last year.

The Cowboys scored nothing but touchdowns yesterday, so we'll need a few ourselves.

I'm really not too worried about Dallas's offense. I AM concerned that Bledsoe spread the ball around however. I think something like 5-6 receivers caught a ball or more.

I am confident Jones will get shut down and that we'll put pressure on Bledsoe, but I just feel if our D has a weak spot at all, it's against the short pass.

i was suprised in some of our goal line situations, we didn't see nehemiah broughton or rock cartwright. i thought that was what they are here for, to get the short yardage.
