LadyT 09-28-2005, 12:25 PM Luckily, my husband never had to face that dilemma, because I am a sports fan too. Even if I weren't, and I knew that my boyfriend or spouse loved to watch the game, I would never ask him to make that choice. Besides, I prefer shopping alone - can't stand to have hubby tagging along and he can't stand to do so either.
Bottom line - if she cares for you, she'll happily let you watch the game. Why is Sunday, during gametime, the only time for shopping?
Riggo44 09-28-2005, 02:58 PM Trust me, you've got to lay down the law early in a relationship. If you don't you'll be shopping every Sunday.
Remember the Skins-Vikings playoff game in '92? The one where B-Mitch had a big game?
Wanna know where I was... the mall. I'll never forgive myself for that.
:laughing2
I rember that game too. I was stuck in a van driving up to Mammoth Mountain. I remember we stoped at a Taco Bell on the way and there was a pizza parlor in the parking lot. I suddenly got the urge for a slice of pizza.Hoping that they had the Reskins game on I ran over there. They had the game on  so I saw a little of it. But beeing that I am the only Redskins fan in my group of friends :banghead: 15 min later they all came over from Taco Hell and told me if I didn't get my ass in the van I would be watching football there all weekend. So rather then miss my ride up the mountain I reluctantly left. Man was that a long trip.
What really sucked was we watched football between skiing the rest of the weekend. Figures the Redskins just had to be the frist game on that weekend. :frusty:
That was the same weekend that Frank (Wrike?) brought the Bills back over Houston. We went skiing at half time because we thought that the game was over. I almost sh-t when I got back to the cabin and saw the score.
That Vikings game was also Gibbs last playoff win. We lost to the 49ers in the mud at the stick the very next weekend. Gibbs retierd after that season. :( It was all down hill from there. That was before this year of course. ;)

I think I'm in LOVE!
Can you come talk to my girlfriend? :smashfrea
mattdouthat 09-28-2005, 07:20 PM Every girl I have ever dated I have told the 2 most Important things in my life are the Redskins and then my mother and they will never come before either. I dated one girl for three years and she said the greatest compliment I ever gave her was that I told her she was almost as important to me as the Redskins. I have never missed a game since I was 15 and only way I would is if my mom was dying. But depends on where you rank Skins in your life. Pick which is more important to you. Me I will always place skins above everything but football and Skins are my first love I am 23 and still sleep with my football and in redskins pajama pants. But only few months I don't think is long enough.
mooby 09-28-2005, 07:28 PM yay! i've worked things out. i talked to her today, and we've decided on this. at noon she has an appointment at a nice little spa, with that whole thing going, whatever it is they do, i just know she likes it. she's gonna be there from noon to 5 p.m., giving her time to do whatever she pleases, and i'm gonna pick her up at 5, leaving me free to watch the game! it works out for both of us. and yes, i did talk to her about how important football is to me, and she's said that she will help me work around it in the future.

Did you pay for that appointment? If so you got hosed. When my wife is adamant about making plans during a game, I just drop the cat off at the pound about 2 hours before the game and tell her she got out. I let her walk around the neighborhood and make up fliers for a few hours. Then I go "looking" for the cat after she gets exhausted (usually around 6) and I always "find" her. Then I get Hero Sex.
You gotta be more creative.
