The only thing I dislike with the offense thus far is our goal line packages for rushing, they simply don't seem to work. We need to find SOME way to punch it in, we're playing much better than I expected this year though, I don't feel as if we can complain TOO much.

We still have problems run blocking. If you have the game tapes, watch the line. Dockery is a lot better pass blocker. He actually kind of suck run blocking.

The middle. all 3 of then havent been good at run blocking.

Also, Portis doenst do well following blocks. He misses a lot. Actually on the one run he ended up at the 2, that was an easy TD if he just following the block and took the last 3 yard to the left. It was wide open. Instead he kind of ran over the blocker and leaped. I dont understand. Hes supposed to be a lot better then that. It was an easy move to make.

If Williams doesn't think Lavar can play, then thats fine by me. He knows him better than I. I think he'll progressively be worked in.

BullDinky! He is mad at LaVar and is taking retribution out on him by not letting him start or play so that he cant make some incentive clauses in his contract. It is total BS. I dont think you can stop LA from getting in the lineup when you consider how bad Holdman is and how great LA is but GW finds a way every game.

Yep. Thats our first loss when Portis went over 100 yards. He had 20 for 103.

And the first back we allowed over a 100 in 8 games. I can believe it was T Bell. I had him on my FF team but dumped him because he wasnt doing anything.

it feels like portis is catching more balls too. I felt during the game that portis had atleast 3 or 4 catches but then i saw it was only 2. We should let him catch more

And we finally quick picked it to him. Thats the play I was saying he should have scored on. I think he is over anxious at this point. A play he liked. Near the goal line, so he hurried it. He could have walking in if he just broke left.

this will only mean one thing
we should start winning like the colts do
a 10 to 15 pont margin

so that any tuck rule will not cost us any game
and this can be attainable
by the way tha brunnel and the offense plays

just give us few more weeks
and we will put points in the board
as well as shut down opposing teams

You know what? With the offense coming so far so fast and still having a lot of room to grow, we could be good enough to consider doing the big dance.

We need to get our kicking game worked out. This punting and kicking not being worked out year after year is getting old.

Also, we dont do anything scary on returns. Im kind of amazed considering we have Betts, Moss, and Thrash doing return. We need to break more yards off.

Run blocking has to get better by the inner 3 lineline. Add LaVar and get our corners back. We added Patton today. Cooley is becoming a regular.

We have a nice team. Gibbs will grow this thing. I noticed to for the first time, I was just relaxed watching the game. It felt like a Gibbs team.

I agree. We are improving in many areas, although special teams has many needs that have to be addressed. It WAS nice to see us pull off a punt block yesterday, but I seriously question Thrash on punt returns (it seems like 95% of the time he FCs), and Betts, while he is consistent, just doesn't have the speed to break a KO return.

As stupid as it sounds, I really walked away from that game feeling like we were playing against the Broncos and the refs. I've always found it interesting that Shanahan's teams have always had an 'unusual' relationship with the referees. I don't know if its because of his whiney, plaintive nature or if it's something else going on, but even when he was running Oakland, they always seemed to get a few more calls there way than the other guy in each game.

Finally, I found it highly amusing that yet another 'sports analyst' (this one from Foxsports) underplays the Redskins effort in a game that they were 'supposed to lose'.

'Ian Gold's break-up of a Mark Brunell pass on a potential game-tying, late fourth quarter, two-point conversion attempt was the clutch play of the weekend. The ball seemed destined to land in David Patten's paws until Gold suddenly appeared out of nowhere and made an athletic and heady play to break it up. The Broncos didn't play their best, and that's what makes the 21-19 win against a quality Redskins team one to savor.'

Hmmm, we'll just ignore the fact that Portis ran for over 100 yds, Brunell passed for over 300, and several questionable officiating calls had a bearing on the final outcome (especially the 'not-fumble', 'not-safety' play). I would like to know how the referees are reviewed with regards to their performance, if at all. I know that in baseball, umpires are 'graded' on their adjudication of the game and their review is directly tied to incentives and in some cases even their continued tenure.

If we can stop the stupid penalties, I feel VERY positive we can take it to Kansas City BAD next week. Their defense is MUCH worse than Denver's.

This one stings becuse we had the game and let it slip away.we did compete and after all the ref's inconsistancies, we still could have won. why didn't springs play? we need to use lavar on passing downs, just like marvin used him. just watching this team fight to come out of the funk and morass that this team has been in for soo long is both inspiring and agonizing.but they are still my team.

The Gibbs-mentality is coming through I see. This team has been in every game down to the bitter end, win or lose.

I don't care who gets them or how, bottom line is we need more TDs period.

We racked up over 400 yards today and moved the ball at will at times, with that kind of yardage we should be putting up 30+ points.

Agreed. My grandfather told me a long time ago you can't put "we're moving the ball" on the scoreboard.
