TheMalcolmConnection 11-29-2005, 10:17 AM I would think you really couldn't stop teams from spending at will in the offseason. I think that when a cap really does get approved after that, they would take the mean of the salaries and create a cap based on that, because I'm sure the players wouldn't mind making all that money. I wouldn't think they would be able to be like, "OK, Well you just signed that person to this huge contract, now cut 30 members of your team." PSUskinsfan11 11-29-2005, 11:31 AM i dont want hall from penn state(see courtney brown)that being said i think we should also be looking at interior lineman.we need a large tackle that is a run stopper.anyone with any ideas? First of all its Hali not Hall. Brown was injury prone even at PSU. Most of his injuries in college were minor and he played through them, plus he was so good in college that people over looked them. Don't think Hali will be like Brown just because they are both from PSU, if that was the case why wasn't William Joseph the next Warren Sapp. hurrykaine 11-29-2005, 11:47 AM I doubt we will go after a DE or D-lineman in the draft. It will have to be in free agency. The pressure to produce wins next year will be tremendous, and given the learning curve for a rookie D-lineman/pass rusher, they can't simply step in and produce immediately. Not to mention, most of the drafted rookie linemen/ends end up injured in their rookie year (a la Kenechi Udeze). The Abraham for Ramsey deal looks imminent at the end of the season. MTK 11-29-2005, 12:00 PM I read today that the Jets have their eye on Brees. I'd guess that whoever the Chargers go with as their long-term guy, either Brees or Rivers, the Jets will look to deal for the odd guy out. backrow 11-29-2005, 12:32 PM I read today that the Jets have their eye on Brees. I've heard that the Jets (Just End the Season) have officially entered the Matt Leinhart(sp?) sweepstakes! :dallas: :dallas: That Guy 11-29-2005, 08:11 PM i'd love tapp in the draft, but he'll be gone soo fast and we don't even have a first round pick. even 2nd string pass rushers would be much better than what we've got... the chargers can stop the run AND get a ton of sacks, so i don't buy blache's cover story of either or. if we can't get a big name, just get someone young who's been improving and has 2-4 years of nfl experience and at least 10 sacks to his name. PSUskinsfan11 11-29-2005, 10:01 PM I really wanted to get Reggie Hayward last year he wouldhave been great http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235077 Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-30-2005, 12:29 AM I really wanted to get Reggie Hayward last year he wouldhave been great http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/235077 He would have been a very good pickup and I too was interested by him, but I think he was slightly out of our price range. |
