skinsguy 12-02-2005, 03:55 PM I don't know about forgetting about Campbell... If brunell performs some majic, and the rest of the team syncs up to run the table and we go to the playoffs, he'll be back. Otherwise, (and I'm sure offseason performance will be a factor and we have no Idea what that's going to go like) I see campbell being there to take the call. Lets not forget what we gave up to give this guy, I can't see him sitting the bench for 2 years if he's making any progress in the offense.
I think if Campbell starts next year, it will be because of an injury to Mark Brunell. Gibbs will avoid throwing him into the fire as long as possible and I seriously have my doubts about seeing him at all next year. I would be happy to wait on Jason Campbell and know that he'd play for us and be successful for years rather than to throw him into the fire now and possibly bring into the system before he's ready. But who knows, he might get his chance next season and become an all pro quarterback.

I just don't know how long Gibbs can keep it up when he's struggling like he is. No one really does, because we've never seen him losing. I want Campbell to come in and play under Gibbs and while we have a Greg Williams coached Defense, which I can't see happening for the next 2 years. If brunell bombs at the end of this year (and recently he's looking worse than Ramsey with indecisions) I think he'll start sooner than later.

I believe as long as Joe Gibbs' health isnt' an issue, he'll be here for the five years of his contract. If that does pan out, I'm sure we'll see Campbell in before Gibbs calls it quits again. I hear what you are saying though, it would be nice to get Campbell in and on his way to being a successful qb, before having to deal with somebody else coming in and implementing a whole new system.
If they thought he was so dumb why did we wast a first round draft pick on him.
I dont know, you have to ask the superstars in here who made that statement
EEich 12-03-2005, 07:27 AM I'd love to say Campbell, but without ever having seen him play...can't do it.
kingerock 12-03-2005, 09:39 AM If Brunell is healthy, play him. I'd love to see Ramsey get a shot at starting somewhere else. Arizona, St. Louis, Detroit and Baltimore all could use a starting QB and all have weapons. I like the kid.
I believe Gibbs will be here for the whole contract unless he's having health issues.
On a side note, I wonder if Marriuci or Martz would like to come on staff as an offensive coordinator.?
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 12-03-2005, 12:04 PM When in doubt, blame Brunell and wonder... WWRD (What Would Ramsey Do?)
Matty, I'm not sure where you are getting the blame Brunell stuff. I can at least speak for myself and say Brunell isn't the problem with our offense. Brunell has played pretty well, if not extremely well. I think people are talking about Ramsey and Campbell because Brunell is as old as dirt and can't hold up much longer.

I would believe that Martz would be here in an offensive coordinator role before Marriuci, Martz offensve philosiophy is similar to Gibbs. I believe that they both worked in the "air coryell" offense.

I dunno though. How long was Marriuci with the 49ers before he became head coach? I know it had to have been the time when the 49ers were still amongst the elite teams in the league.
Why do you always have to play the race card on things? I do not remember anyone here say that because Campbell is black he is stupid and therefor can not play QB.
its not the Race card.....I've heard someone say that someone they knew helped him out with some of classes and that he was just so dumb and then someone said that a assistant coach who use to be a Auburn maybe now at Ole Miss or LSU said that Cambell was one of the dummiest person he ever meet, and for you thats the race card....thats a sterotype that has been going on for ages....you know like the blonde issue or penis issue or even better, that Rush Limp, states that Donvan is Overrated because the media wants a black QB to succeed, I dont look a race and say wow, I wonder why there is no more White Cornerbacks because there to slow, or when the lasttime has there been a probowl RB that was white or are blackmen smart enough to coach a team or not, me racist no, realistic yes, the writing is on the wall, I know that Peyton is the Best QB in the League and I know he's the smartest, but smarter than 31 other starting QB in the NFL, who cares right, because if he (Campbell) succeed he will be glorified, but if he fails it will come up, oneway or the other, I know that I've earned a right to speak my mind, you don't have to like it, thats cool but, I hoping for Campbell and the Vicks and Culpeppers of the World Success, because its important to me...........by the way my faviorite all-time Redskins was John Riggins, go figure a blackboy wanting to be a White RB that played for his favorite team, I'll speak up everytime I hear someone putting a person down because of what they heard, for a people that have survived 300 years of torture....I say were pretty tough, smart, and adapt pretty well.............INCREASE THE PEACE
