Re: Classless Coach Belichick
Jeeze. I'm not going to repeat the multitude of reasons again. Just read all of the posts and maybe you'll get it...maybe.
I've read the posts, and yes, I get where people are coming from on this issue. I really do. However, to me, a classless act would be if the Pats somehow had an "unfair" advantage over the Skins and then decided to run up the score. To me, running up the score implies that you are somehow incapable of preventing me from advancing the ball. If I'm still into the game, then I expect the same from your team. Which brings me to another question, did the Skins give up is what we really should be asking. Somehow, displacing our blame and disgust on Belichick has become all too convenient around the NFL these days. |
Too bad the Skins dont have an a-hole coach. I'd love for the Skins to be 8-0 and kicking azz.
You can still win and kick ass but have some class. I really hope we never have a coach who's a dickhead in the mold of Belichick. I really don't. Winning is great but you can still show some respect for your opponents and the game. |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
I just cant see how NE could have done it any differently. They went for it on 4th instead of kicking a FG. The FG would have been rubbing the Skins noses in it. At least the Skins had a chance to stop them on 4th and they couldnt.
I have no problem with any team scoring as much as they can. The only way to disrespect the game is to stop playing hard. You cant tell guys that want to get noticed or keep their jobs to stop playing.
And thats why no one likes you or your garbage mentality |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
I find it hard to have any respect for a coach who runs up a score. There's no need to show up your opponent. It's a total lack of class and humility, and those that support such a thing are also lacking in class and humility.
i knew going in this game wasn,t going to be a pretty one to watch but did i ,yes i did. and from the looks of bill on the sidelines he,s always like he,s unhappy but maybe thats just me.in regards to running up the score that shows no class all the way this might just prove to be costly to the patroits in the long run especially this week. but running up the score shows no class from a no class coach in my eyes..getting a beatdown is one thing but getting your nose rubbed in it when the going is good well thats another thing all together but i wish we had that kind of killer instinct. |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
Yeah, he ran up the score. But this kind of thing happens in the NFL. Lots of other teams are feeling the same way, and every week that goes by, more people are gunning for the Patriots. Belicheck and his players like it that way.
I don't know about throwing everybody against them for all-out blitzes in the fourth quarter. That reeks of desperation. But the team that beats them is going to have to START with a determination to play ugly. I mean Buddy Ryan, body-bag ugly. Jerry Glanville, trash-talk ugly. I mean Bill Walsh, crackback block ugly. You notice how after every play the Pats players pat the defenders on the rear and say good job? All part of the mind games they play. Slap 'em back, and go for the knees on the next play. Rattle em up, take em out of their game. They're already motivated, so you can't make it any worse. The Colts may pull it off, but from the way they're talking, I'm looking for Ray Lewis and the gang to cause Brady some pain. |

Well if we gave up it started on the Pats very first drive. |
Really? Wow, you would be the one we'd all like to turn to with questions of class and character.
My point was why do Redskins fans care what BB does in his personal life? Why do the fans care if Brady fathered a child out of wedlock, or is on People magazine? It's like fans are trying to place blame anywhere except at our own team. Why can't we discuss why nobody bothered to cover Vrabel on the same play he has ran since 04? Or why we just sat back and let Brady have all day to pass? Or why we can't get a 1st down? Matt Cassell is NE's back-up QB. He never ever gets to play cause Brady has started every game since 01. So when he gets a chance to play what in the world is he suppose to do? Go in and hand it off? I can bet NE's coaching staff is thinking get this guy some game experience in case anything happens to Brady. They are always thinking ahead, unlike our coaching staff. |

If they wanted to get Matt Cassell experience, they could have started in the third quarter and would have been able to do so safely. This isn't baseball, you can bring your starter back in if anything "crazy" happens, you know, like if we had scored more than once on them. |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
Of course the score was run up. However, up until going for it on 4th down, I'd say the Pats were playing their game. Going for it on 4th twice in the 4th up as much as they were set the tone, saying that you can't stop us, so we're going to continue to ram it down your throat.
However, at what point does a coach pull back the reigns? Seems like last week, Belicheck did that and the Dolphins put up 28. He didn't want to see that happen again, so the starters were out there until well into the 4th quarter. The Redskins did not help their cause, coming out as flat as they did. When Rogers went down, the secondary was depleated, and Welker was going up against Lee Torrance and tore him apart. Chalk it up to a bad game against the best team in the NFL, with a coach who has a chip on his shoulder. It was classless to run the score up, but it happened and he doesn't care. The Skins showed no signs of stopping their offense, so they continued to score. |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
WHO THE HELL CARES if he ran up the score. We were more concerned with the PATS than ourselves.
i really dont think i need to add anything except i do think they ran the score up on us and as someone once told me what goes around comes around. I was one of these that question the offensive play calling but honestly i am now starting to question the defensive play calling. But it is only one game and we need to put it behind us and get ready to play the Jets.
Yes, the team needs to move on with preparing for the next game, but I think the entire organization should not quickly forget what happened yesterday. They should keep this fresh in their collective minds and use it to learn from and for motivation. London Fletcher isn't ready to forget with this quote in the WP: "We got utterly embarrassed in every facet of the football game," said linebacker London Fletcher, a vocal leader in just his first season with the team. "This loss falls on everybody in this organization. I feel like we've got to let it simmer and stew, because I don't ever want to have this feeling again. I don't think you just move on. There's a lot of stuff that happened on this football field today that has to be corrected if we're going to get to our ultimate goal this year." That doesn't change the fact that one of the story lines from yesterday was the Pats running up the score. If you don't have a problem with NE running it up, fine. Class and character are those things that people either have or they don't. You either understand it or you don't. |

But you can bet your life that Balt. is not going to let Brady sit back and have all day to pass. Knowing them they will take a late hit 15 yard penalty just to try and rattle him up. But you are on to something and that type of mentality is what it might take to beat these guys. Did you happen to see the Georgia Fla game? The coach of Georgia sent the whole team out on the field to celebrate a Georgia TD. The whole bench ran out on the field to try and intimidate Fla. I loved it!!!! The Geogia coach had the I don't give a f*#k attitude and they took the 15 yard penalty. Actually they took two 15 yarders but he was sending a message to Fla. The Georgia coach has some major balls. |
Re: Classless Coach Belichick
My friend put it best...as far as the Pats are concerned we are slightly better than the Dolphins. Anywho, no need to be pissed, just put this game away and never watch it, read about it or talk about it! Pretend we had a bye week if you have to.

Start wearing silver and black, and maybe in another decade or so of top-5 picks, the Raiders will be rolling again. |
